DIFFICULT CHOICES...POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
In this increasingly difficult job market, it's getting harder and harder to find rewarding employment. Sure, you can stock shelves at Wal-Mart or bag groceries at the supermarket, but that's not exactly going to pay the mortgage if you're over say 25 years of age.
If you're going to find meaningful employment it means you need to be on top of your game not only in the interview but in your personal life as well. One of the hardest things to do is to realize and admit to yourself that there might be some issues in your own life that are no one's fault but your own that are preventing you from attaining the level of success that your talents should have you at.
If you're willing to invest that kind of honesty, then the next step is finding a way to deal with that. Speaking from my own experiences, the biggest issue for me was where to start. I knew where I wanted to finish, but getting the wheels moving was another story altogether.
Because of my interests in the NHL, and the NY Rangers in particular, I met Stanley Cup Champion Mike Hartman through other contacts in the sport. Since leaving the game, Mike has dedicated himself to coaching. He started out with just hockey and grew into personal training and then he dedicated years of work in learning about a relatively new science called Axiology. You can look it up. This isn't Scientology or some sort of spiritual thing. It's a legitimate science. The Doctor who did the most work in it, Dr. Robert Hartman, no relation to Mike, was nominated for a Nobel Prize for his work in it.
Well, Mike has achieved what only eight others have and attained a level of proficiency that had him attain a title of Certified Practitioner in Axiology. Mike insisted that I take one of the tests/assessments. Owning a recruiting firm for the past 13 years, I've railed against these tests as nonsense because I've been able to manipulate all of them and gotten them to show exactly what I want them to. But since Mike and I had become friends, I took the test and this one CANNOT be manipulated. The results that Mike shared with me were so eye opening and amazingly accurate that I was stunned.
I then began a journey of self discovery through something called a Play Book. Now, I feel compelled to share with you that I know how this is sounding and I need to address it. I am an Atheist and have been for a long time. This is about as non-spiritual a program as you can get. If it was I'd have nothing to do with it. It's all work you do yourself with using some guidance to help you ask yourself the right questions...and it works.
Since I started this program my business has improved because I've improved. It can work for you too.
