Learning and sharing...

Just a quick reminder of things we have learned and glady we can give them away to the newbies and senior writers. They say time is money and if we find ways of saving time, then we know everyone would appreciate our down to earth tips. Here are some random ideas and general advice that we have kept in our heads and wanted to share should we forget later on.

Commenting Back to a Big Load of Followers

When we write a hub we get around 35%-45% of new readers or hubbers that drop a quick note. We know they are potential followers and they need especial attention.

Some profile names are hard to spell and frankly is tedious enough, talking about 3 a.m. and trying to deal with these "alpha-numeric words." Scrolling up and down to them just to get THEM right!! can take those extra 20 minutes needed for a new hub, if you get more than 20 comments in a day for sure.

Get to Know Your Hubber follower's real name

Instead of trying to write Midget38 (Michelle for example), just learn their first names. Or get this bull by the "horns" and get it right from the very beginning: write a clean list of followers in a "Word," "Notepad" or "spreadsheet" with their real names -- You can add up daily. Treat it like a phonebook with your 100-200 followers. Well, for Patty Inglish and William Holland this rule is overrated.

This method is seeing in billybuc's response to his followers. He is a teacher, so he is using that experience. This makes our readers feel unique and important. We get more followers this way and the views increase enormously.

What about Those Hard to Spell Profile names?

Just copy them and paste. Yeah you cannot do it at first. Here is the trick:

For instance you have "shwaryaa22" commenting on your hub. Sorry shwaryaa22 for using you as an example. Thank you for your understanding! We want you to understand that this will help many hubbers.

You want to copy her name and with so much frustration you get nowhere. You keep getting the "finger pointer" (html 'a href').

Finally here is the trick: You know you can "copy" her profile name and her city in one block.

"ishwaryaa22 4 days ago from Chennai, India"

You cannot "pick up" ishwaryaa22 by itself.

  • Instead of copying the whole nick and that "4 day ago from Chennai, India" addendum...
  • Just Swipe or highlight from "right to left" starting at number 4 (<<<)
  • You will copy, "ishwaryaa22 4 "
  • Finally paste it in your response block and simply delete number 4
  • Practice three times and you will get it

By copying and pasting hard to memorize profile names, you are actually saving time and headaches. We all want to see our profile names written correctly. This little trick keep your eyes rested for your new piece of creativity.

Machines and technology in front of us...!

Ourselves on the set of the New Halloween movie.. the road is there, ready to be paved...! What was that sound?

Iphone, Google and YouTube

By adding the Google+ apps and YouTube, which are already incorporated in our IPhone by droid, you become a walking newscaster. We take pictures that are uploaded immediately to our Pikasa account through Google+. We have taped and tested our iPhone video-camera and we have been uploading to YouTube.

The future is here as shown by Cloud Explorer and other fine hubbers. Just ask your retailer how to set up your cell with the latest cool apps, even for FB. I know some baby boomers like the old style of digital and those USB 2.0, but craze advancements are evolving faster than our minds... not being able to keep up with "tech" cool names.
