How To Format Links in HubPages Forums

There are only a few places on HubPages that allows you to link to your Hub, or article. One of those places is the forum thread "Your Hub Challenge hub links" in the HubChallengers forum linked here.

Most people know how to make link that are formatted correctly when writing Hubs because there is a link toolbar button in the Text module that activates when you highlight the text you want to link. For example...

Highlight text and use the link icon when composing Hubs.

Links in Forums

However, when writing in the forums, there is no link icon. So many people assume that you can not format the link like you do in your Hubs. 95% of them will just paste in the web address as shown...

And you can ...

When composing forum post, click the "formatting" button for the syntax on creating links...

You have to build the link using the forum syntax like this ...

where xxxxxx is the web address that you want to link to. For example...

And right after the words that you want to link to, you have to "close the link" by typing [/url]

Note the use of the forward slash and brackets. For example...

Now your link should come up formatted like this ...

Hope that was useful.

Awesome! I don't often participate in the forums, but this is good to know if I need to link to a hub. I like the way you explain with images, very clear.
