What defense does Hub Pages offer against 'scrapers'?
Recently a site lifted a vast amount of original content from Hub Pages and used it to make money without paying for it. The only response from Hub Pages was, '"file a complaint with DCMA". For an organization that is profiting from our collective work (by agreement) this is kind of lame.
None.
You can react by filing a complaint with the DCMA, Google, etc.
Tools to help you find copied content would be the most that they could likely ever offer.
Hubpages is not responsible for duplication of hubbers' topics as we are self employed freelance writers. My husband asked the same question of me. With the many thousands of writers on this site, it would also be a monumental task for a website to offer such service. We are responsible for our own content. It would be nice if we did not have to perform this task, as it would save time. You can pay a site to check for duplicate content, and some help with DMCA, I believe.

My Take on Hub Pages. It's alright for them to take our content and just add whatever type of adds they want. Why? Because when someone reads ""our content"" and clicks on one of these adds, Hub Pages makes money. Yes you say, they share it with us. The Truth! Hub...

Is porn O.K. on hub pages? I have seen some Hubpages that have nothing more than pictures. Most of them from India. What's that all about? Nothing more than photos. I don't get it. But I found one that I thought was a bit over the top, and I was not sure if I...
