   I'll never make it to the number 1 place on HP under the Hubbers tab, and you probably won't either.
   
   Why is that? What makes a Hubber be consistently at the top of the list when you click on "Hubbers"?

   Well, Sally you are number three on the list. Out of 210,000 writers, pretty wonderful! The top spot seems to be  between Patty Inglish and Chuck-always.I might be wrong, but any time Chuck is 100 he is listed first. This makes me wonder if there is some aspect at work here that is alphabetical, chronological, or frequency of publishing hubs at work here in ordering hubbers with the same score.  As such, then if you are 100 you are tied first place essentially with everyone else at 100, rather than  people on the first page being higher quality than on the 4th page-there are actually a large number of people at 99-100. The highest I've ranked is 92. I haven't got lower than 75 since I first passed it, though. And apparently, that's all you need to worry about.

   When I first saw this question I thought it was written by someone with a score of 75 or lower & was going to say being at 100 isn't important . I Was surprised to see it was written by  someone  who is at already in the top 3 seen  on hubbers  so you have a very much higher chance of people looking at your hubs as well making it to NO ! only 2 above you. .
   That has to mean you get a ton of viewers .
   I am diferent tho as I go to the newest hubs and read theirs sometimes.

   This is where questions/answers and forum posts get confused. I shouldn't have asked this question here, unless one of you would find it inspiring enough to make a Hub out of it, and I guess that's what I was looking for.
   
   I've often been at the 100 profile mark, who knows why? I don't publish a lot here, I don't even interact a lot here. So what does all that mean?
   
   Flora, you've got a great view on this. (Whenever Chuck is at 100, he's also at the top of the food chain...that's so interesting.) And no, I'm not worried about any of it. It's just a question.
   
   FCAussie, no I don't get a ton of viewers by being at 100, and I certainly don't get added traffic. What I get are a ton of followers who almost never again engage. Just because they follow me, am I supposed to follow them? Not. And as for making it to No. 1, I probably have one of the lowest earnings profiles on HP, and even if I made No.1 in the HP Hubbers tab, it would get me nothing in terms of dollars.
   
   Thank you both for your answers to this question...I should have, really, put it out on a Forum post, but if it in any way inspires either of you to explore and write about your thoughts in a Hub or a forum post, this question would have more than met its mark.

   All I can say is -- if there is an alphabetical element at work, it might have been nice to know about it BEFORE I picked my user name . I know I've been as high as 97, but I rarely see more than a handful of 100s at any given time. I would assume that this, at least, means that anyone with a 100 have about the same visibility as anyone else with the same score. As to why it's 100 -- the inner workings of the mysterious hub score are unknown to us feeble mortals.

   i'm not sure about others on here, but where i am on hubpages doesn't matter in the least to me. being #1 means nothing because many of the folks with really high scores write things i personally think suck. it's just a matter of who writes things that make money , not who writes things that they feel strongly about.

   I just want my hubscore in the upper 90's is all . . . .but I'm really here because the interface and layout options are great, and because no matter how good my Info Barrel content is. . . .Hubpages gets me more search engine traffic right now.

   The factor that determines author order for the Hubber ranks is your member number. 
   
   People who signed up earlier are in number order ahead of people who signed up later.  So, for all the 100 Hub authors, they are displayed from oldest site member to newest, then the 99s from oldest to newest, etc.
