   Hi, a friend of mine used to use hubpages a long time ago but cannot now access his account
   
   when we go to his account it says that this user doesn't exist, if we try to create a new account for him using his email and/or facebook account it says that these accounts are already linked to his hibpages account.  Any ideas how to reinstate his account?  He isn't sure if he closed it and there is no reason we are aware of for hubpages to have banned him.  Would they have closed his account through inactivity.  We have searched for information about reinstating accounts, to no avail.

   Most likely your friend is making a mistake somehow in logging in.  HubPages does not close accounts due to inactivity.  If an account is banned, it plainly says so on the profile page.
   
   Your friend will have to contact HubPages admin directly.  They won't discuss or comment on individual accounts with people who are not that individual.

      We found a place where he had answered a question and clicked on his username:
      Keith Sutherland
      and were taken to this page:
      Sorry that user no longer exists

      Unless your friend had Hubs/content he put up, admin is just going to tell him to make a new account.  If he did publish Hubs, then he should contact admin about this.

      He didn't have any hubs on his account - he answered a few questions and then fell by the way side while he finished writing and publishing his books.  Creating  a new account will be ok however his facebook account is still linked to his old account

      when we tried to create a new account for him by linking via facebook it said that the facebook account and email address was already linked to a hubpages account.  We have tried the forgot password routine but no luck.

   He has sent a message to the team at hubpages to see if there is anyway they can reinstate his account.  We will await the outcome.

   I have never started a new account here, nor do I own more then 1 hubpages account like some folks actually have here. I believe though, that by simply creating a new email account if your friend only has one, he or she can start a brand new hubpages account here with such an email address, and if they have another email already pretty much.
   
   As for getting facebook to sign-in or log in, well that will definitely have to be taken up with the hubpages staff, because it will need to be removed from the hubpages database, and or filing system in order for it to be released. So I agree with Relache on that part for sure, but if you don't care to do so the other method should work like a charm.

      Thanks for the suggestion I think he has now set up a new account without the facebook link but hey ho...thanks for your help.
