I THINK I'd like to blog, but, I know nothing about it...What, Where, How, Why...

What are the benefits of blogging? Where are the best blog spots? How do people 'find' your blog? Why would anyone follow a blog(I don't..). Is it difficult to 'build' one that draws attention? Thanks!

You can blog about anything....really, anything. And someone will find it and then read it; there is a niche for everyone in the world, it seems. The best way to get into blogging yourself is to go explore blogs...just google:  '(insert topic) blogs'. There are blogs on every topic imaginable, many very boring and dead, and many very interesting and lively. I have two, and they are very different from each other: one at Gentling.org, and another at: bandbseminars.com

Building a blog is dead easy.  When I first started on line, I set up a blog on Blogger.com.  Wordpress is quite user-friendly too, I think.

Like krillco wrote you can blog about anything your heart desires.  If your hubs here are anything to go by, I don't think you'll have any trouble getting followers.

Many people stumble across blogs while surfing, but there are things you can do to promote your blog and attract followers.  They're simple things and you don't need a marketing degree to do them.

So, what do you have in mind to blog about?

People use blogging for many reasons. I personally enjoy blogging, and teaching others and use it to help business.

There are many different ways to get your blog noticed. It can be very difficult at first. You can make youtube videos; use Facebook, twitter etc; post links on stumble upon, delicious, digg. They main way is just by conversing with others - anyone and everyone. I hope this helps.

One of the best sites is bloggingwithamy.com. She covers everything from A to Z! One of the nice things about blogging is that you can write anything you want  and really let your personality come out. As far as building one that draws attention, it's the same thing with a blog as it is with everything else (articles, websites, etc...) which is traffic, traffic traffic! Getting traffic is the hardest part of the whole Internet thing, but there are lots of good sites with information about this, including the one I mentioned. Good luck!
