which would you consider to be more interesting of a hub topic to read?

Childhood memories of neglect/abuse or Upbeat crafts & positive parenting ideas?

Me, definitely the latter...child abuse and neglect is horrible and efforts should always be ongoing to prevent it and stop it where it's already happening, but so many of us have either experienced or heard about so many different manifestations of this that there's really nothing that can be achieved by reading more other than wallowing in negative emotions. Now, if the childhood memories are followed up with how the person overcame them and went on to live the life they want to live, that could be a useful subject...I don't know how visible it would be because of all the other accounts out there, but if even one person learns that they're only a victim for as long as they choose to adopt the mentality then that could be a good thing.

Now, craft ideas are always a great and positive thing, and are a wonderful stress reliever. Positive parenting tips can help make sure that there are fewer child abuse and neglect memoirs to be written in the future. These are the types of things I'd rather dwell on smile.

I would argue that there is a demand for both, but it depends on how you approach each subject. Like wychic said, subjects on child neglect should be ways to deal with it and rise above it (if you were the child) or resources one can contact to report or prevent it. They should be useful hubs that people experiencing something similar could use and feel better about after reading.

And with crafts and parenting hubs, it is always good to write how-to subjects. They're really good because they have the ability to be timeless. Someone could still want to know how to knit a sweater two years from now and your hub is still relevant. So I think both subjects are valid for hubs. Just make sure the information is useful and helpful to the users that find it.
