Okay, this is so not me, but anyway.

I have just been reading a whole lot of dating site ads. The number of men who say that they want someone to make them feel special, that they want to be cherished and adored, etc., has stunned me. What's worse, these are all baby boomers in their late 50s through 60s. Many of them have never got married. They also variously state that they are now ready - at last - to find the love of their lives. Wasn't this supposed to happen in the late teens or through the 20s? Isn't it a bit late to suddenly decide at this late stage that one is finally ready to find the love of one's life?

What I get is a sense of emptiness, as if something was never developed inside. If I was looking for a man, not in a million years would I ever respond to an ad like that. How does any woman make a man feel cherished and adored day in, day out?

So, am I just an old cynic with a cold, old heart?  smile

Oh, good. I'm normal! I also started giggling! It's crazy that men of that age actually think that way! smile
