Reflections of a High School Reunion

The age old question of should I go or not go to my high school reunion, has been around since the time of the dinosaur. I've been pondering this question ever since I read one of Chuck Lorre's vanity cards at the end of the television show - "Two and a half men". I'm sure that there are plenty of others out there that have been pondering this same question as well. While I was thinking about this topic I decided to Google my high school class, and bingo what should appear? In a far distant dark corner of the internet, a very old long forgotten web site popped up on my computer monitor, which was created by my high school classmates, prior to the reunion.

My high school class had somewhere around 600 people in it, so there was no way to have known everyone. however this old site had hundreds of uncensored entries, and when I say uncensored, I mean totally uncensored. I remembered most of these folks, who posted comments on this site. I eventually opted not to attend the high school reunion, but this old site gave me a bird's eye view, and a reflection of my old high school classmates.

I've selected a few of their comments to be included in this hub. I didn't make any of this up, and these are their own words. However I did have to clean up some of the language. There were some comments which I couldn't even consider using, that were unpublishable even on the hub pages. It takes all kinds of folks to make up a high school class, and you are about to see what I mean. I'd now like to introduce you all to some of my high school classmates, as they ponder the question themselves, of going to the high school reunion.

Hello everyone! It is so nice to see everyone on this wonderful website.! Boy it has been a rough 9 months! I just got out of rehab and now things are getting back to normal. The booze, the drugs and the meaningless one night stands really took their toll. But I am cleaned up and ready to go to the reunion! I have been married three times and have 3 wonder children. I am really looking forward to our reunion. I cannot wait to see Mark. I always had a crush on him. What a cute little stud muffin. I bet he still looks good! It was really a shame about Lee being eaten alive by that crocodile in Australia. I always thought he was such a nice boy. Mark, watch out! Cause I want a kiss! I have also learned that Lee was not eaten alive by an alligator. I was so sorry to have spread that rumor. But of course, I was hooked on Vicodin back then so I have no idea what I was saying. Hello everyone, Its really nice to hear from you all. I have been happily married for 13 years and I have a precious daughter Olivia. She is a present from heaven. After I graduated I moved out of the area. I met my husband Greg and we moved back home. He liked the area. My husband is the manager at the Royal Flush septic tank company who's motto is "A straight flush beats a full house every time". We still live in the area, but we are looking to move soon. Hello all! This is great. As I stated, my release date is September. Haven't seen much since graduation. Can't wait to see the sky. I been working out a lot and studying for MD Bar. I heard the reunion will be on bus line, so I will be there. I hear a lot from Kevin. He is doing well with rehab. He will not be released, but he can get a day pass. I was hoping we could work a fund raiser of some kind to help me out with getting back into the real world. Any leads on a good job and place to bunk out is greatly appreciated. Hey gang. It is great to see how well everybody is doing. Thanks for the well wishes I've received. OK. My story(short version) Put myself through school and graduated with a degree in finance. Moved to the island of Maui in Hawaii. Opened a nightclub business as managing partner. The Blue Tropix was Maui's premiere nightspot. Spent most time surfing, scuba diving, swimming, biking and meeting people from all over. Met a beautiful actress named Marla while she was on vacation. We were married at sunset on the beach. After much consideration, we decided to live in L.A. The nightclub accepted a buyout from the World Cafe. Moved to LA. I worked designing accounting systems for a successful entrepreneur. My son was born. He is my pride and joy. Currently, we live in Marina del Rey (very close to the beach)in West LA. I am two years in as the controller for an investment bank based in Century City. Everyone in the family is great.

We started having sex last week. I have a fourteen year old stepson who looks just like me. I am married to my husband Joe for 10 years now. We have 3 boys. I worked for an Oral Surgeon for 12 years and now have dedicated MY LIFE to my kids and my husband. Soccer mom and all! Just love it. These were the people who I grew up with, and went through all of school with. I think I may have made the right decision by skipping the reunion, and I don't feel like I missed a single solitary thing now!
