With safety in mind, is it better to drive your children to school or use bus services?
I recently drove by some schools in the morning and witnessed the SUV parade dropping off students. It looked like chaos and I wondered how many accidents happened because of this. Today, I read a child was hit by a car in front of school. My kids are grown but I wonder how parent of young children feel about this practice.
Both bus and car is equally safe and dangerous.
Both has some good and bad sides. It is totaly depends upon them who want to send their child to school.
Best way is select school nearby your home.
It seems location has a lot to do with it. A tough call either way. Thank you.
I am not a fan of school buses. The drivers have a very difficult job driving safely and watching out for bullying and making sure the kids are safe. I drove my kids to school but frankly, we've always lived in small towns and traffic was not an issue. They were dropped off at the door of the school and got from the car directly to the sidewalk so we had no issues.
I think it is the parent's job to teach safety when getting out at school just like we taught them to look both ways when crossing the street.
For peace of mind and security purposes, driving your child to school is safer. The bus routes can get rowdy and fighting is common. Sometimes, fights spill out into the streets. Recently, high school students were targeted by robbers. I wondered why target the high schools, but students today carry phones, ipads, and lab tops. Living in Chicago, I have seen large numbers of students from different schools fight in the street. When I went to school, I walked and took the bus. I am sure that students today choose the same options. However, there are greater safety risks today.

I was involved in a forum discussing whether teachers should be held accountable for a students success. I started thinking about the possibilities of home schooling, but I don't have any information on the subject and I noticed there were no hubs on the topic. What do you know about it and what is...

I think it starts at home with the parenting methods and how the parents motivate and encourage learning. How do we become more responsible parents towards the education of our...

Another day, another school shooting. This time it occurred in Santa Fe, Texas with up to 10 people dead. What's obvious is that these students could not defend themselves. Until all high school students are allowed to bring their own guns to school for self-defense purposes, none of them will ever...
