How has hell become the most used method of psychological behavioral modification of all time?

The concept of hell has been used by religionists as the greatest deterrent for so-called errant behavior.  The church fathers realized that in order to bring more people in the fold, some type of psychology has to be impetus to make their particular ideology more desirable, even welcoming. So the catch all word to do this was the concept of hell.  Hell has been the greatest scare tactic that religionists have used to control and instill fear in the masses.

Very true gmwilliams with out a doubt , people have allowed the clergy to lead them with the thought that they have a connection with the true God, but in reality they have blocked the channel to his presence, this is done because many do not even listen to what they read from the bible ,yes they read but they do not act on the counsel that he gives. Many clergy have changed the word of God and says it is ok to proceed in lifestyles that God has condemned, there is nowhere in the bible that say he will change his mind, he is perfect we have to change our minds to match his.
But he does not force anyone, it is a personal decision we must make with him alone.
People that want to live a certain way will find clergy that will agree to their lifestyle.
But people must remember that we all will be judge based on our own conduct and choices even the clergy will be accountable for his own. So why follow him.

To stargirl notice what is written as proof.
      Reference Bible
Mt 13:34All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds by illustrations. Indeed, without an illustration(parables) he would not speak to them; So fire is use many times as an illustration.

You are using the most common used bible , King James of the 1600's Good but it does have human errors,  based on his religious opinions.  Before that bible the word hell was not used.

Jesus talked very frequently about hell in the NT.  Man did not create hell.  God created hell specifically for Satan and his fallen angels and demons.  But people do go there for rejecting God.  It sounds like a scare tactic, but really it is a warning.

Stargirl would you list your source of Bible and scripture. The point is to Remember Jesus taught by illustrations.  He use the term fire but that does not mean there is an actual fire. Fire destroys never to return the way it was. That was his point
