If you are a vegetarian, what is your philosophy behind choosing to be a vegetarian?
I never chose. Nature chose it for me. Meat makes me incredibly anxious and ill if I attempt to eat it. :p
I know some people who have chosen to be vegetarians for health reasons, many were meat eaters for most of their lives and due to serious health problems, their doctors recommended they discontinue eating red meat and fatty meats.
While others are socially conscious of the cruelty that some farm animals face in order to be our food.
So I think it can be a proactive choice to try and be healthier, but not all vegetarian dishes are healthy, some contain high amounts of fat, such as cheese, heavy sauces, butter, creams and egg dishes and white bread. Also one would have to be careful of too many carbs as well.
Many have chosen to be Vegan to eliminate the dairy products from their diet. Getting enough protein will always be an issue for vegetarians.
I would suggest if your a vegetarian, vegan or not either way "balance" is necessary to eat right.
I've read that the body adjusts to what ever foods are eaten to some extent. However whole natural foods in the right proportions are required for the body to be healthy. Essencial fatty acids like omega 3 is required for every cell of your body. There is vegatation that contains omega 3 fatty acids.Flaxseed oil from the variety of Flax grown exclusively for it's seed. There of course is another variety grown for it's fiber that is used to make linen.Hemp of course has more than one variety. One grown for it's fiber which was used extensively worldwide to make paper including the paper our constitution was written on and the fiber that was used to make both sails, rope and clothing and the first American flag. The other variety of hemp was grown for it's seed and omega 3 oil.The hemp seed has been proven to be of the highest quality protein that can be grown in the harshest of climates.Even in the andies mountains where water is scarce.
Unrefined extra virgin olive oil contains omega 6 which is a good fat that the body needs to have healthy skin which is an indicator of overall health.Dairy and eggs can contribute to health when eating fat free milk that came from dairy cows that eat grass instead of corn and eggs that come from hens that are free to choose their own food source instead of being forced to eat something that's not by choice but they are forced to eat. That is not to say that what they are forced to eat is necessarily bad for them or the eggs they lay ,but there is a temptation on the part of some to feed them whatever is available or cheapest with disreguard for the health of the hens or the people who buy their eggs. Then there is the question about the fact that hens eat insects for their high protein content when they are allowed to do that. If,the insects have come into contact with pestacides then you have a problem with the quality of eggs produced and there is always the fact that hens themselves are not exclusively vegatarians.
a non-vegetarian human is no different than an animal....(according to me)....nd we all know that we are at the topmost of god's creation ladder.....so BE HUMAN !!!!!
Leave the animal-like behaviour to them only.....

Is following a vegetarian diet healthier than a regular diet that includes meat?

Why do some vegetarians eat fish and eggs? I am a meat eater but have always curious about this. Wouldn't fish and other types of seafood be a meat? Wouldn't eggs be considered as an unborn chicken? I even know some people who claim to be vegetarians and eat chicken.

Why do vegetarians and vegans condemn people who eat meat?We do not think they are crazy or speak poorly of them who can't stomach the thought of sushi, or even bacon or eggs for breakfast.

Is it hard for vegetarians to find good food while traveling?I recently made the switch to vegetarianism, and worry that I will starve during my travels. Does anyone have any tips for vegetarian travelers?

I am a vegetarian because I do not want to live on killings of animals. What about you? If you are, what are the reasons behind your being a vegetarian? And if you are not, what do you think about vegetarian people?
