Introduction

Jon Stewart of the Daily Show is ending it's show shortly. It has been on Comedy Central since 1999. It has won 18 prime time Emmy awards. What has it accomplished?

Soul Searching...

Aug. 6th will be the last day of The Daily Show. It is time for some soul searching for the host. It has come to my attention that Jon Stewart has made several secret visits to the Obama White House. He needs to come clean about what he did these last 7 years and during the Bush years.

I will admit that I am not a fan of Jon Stewart. I seldom watch his program. I know about his show from others that do watch him. I also see him once in a while debating with Bill O'Reilly of Fox News. I am biased and I am a regular watcher of Fox News and The O'Reilly Factor. However, I can make some observations and provide factual data on Jon Stewart, the host.

My claim is this. He single handedly, has brought a whole generation of young people to marginalize the conservative message - at their own detriment. That is quite an accomplishment.

Demonizing Fox News

His playbook is taken right out of Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." In specific, Rule 5 and Rule 12. He uses satire and sprinkle with a bit of truth and pass it as news. He has used this successfully with young impressionable minds.

When he is caught at time, he falls back on the excuse that he is just a comedian and entertainer. Very convenient. He is like the guy who throws sand into the people's eye. By distorting the view, he makes issues more complicated than needed and create doubt when there should not be any doubt.

He seems obsessed with Fox News because it is the only opposition to the vast Main Stream Media. His objective is to marginalize the opposition by way of ridicule and comedy. He has smart and witty writers that come up with jokes that leans left.

Jousting With Bill O'Reilly

His main target is Bill O'Reilly of the The O'Reilly Factor which started a few years before his show. Because of the popularity of The Factor, he was able to piggyback on that and create a following. The highlight of this was the rumble in Oct. 6, 2012, a month before the Presidential election.

Creating Colbert to Spoof O'Reilly

The obsession with the success of The Factor lead Jon Stewart to start a satire show called the Colbert Report. It aim at copying the Factor by making fun of it at the same time. A news-parody concept, the Colbert Report was a parody of personality-driven political opinion shows such as The O'Reilly Factor, in which Colbert portrayed a caricatured version of conservative political pundits.

Steven Colbert has been hired to host the Late Show following the retirement of David Letterman.

Accomplishments Mano A Mano

Let me highlight some of Jon Stewart's accomplishments:

  • won 18 Emmy Awards
  • Wrote two book "America" and "Earth"
  • Supported Charities -Autism Speaks, Comic Relief, Feeding America, Parkinson Foundation, Robin Hood, Stand Up To Cancer, Television Academy Foundation
  • Most influential Man 2010 - askmen.com

vs.

Bill O'Reilly's accomplishments:

  • Bold and Fresh Tours
  • Support for Power Chairs to the Disabled Veterans
  • Wrote numerous best selling books including the "Killing series"
  • Help push Jessica's Law and passed in 44 states.
  • Proposed Kate's Law
  • Successfully defended the war on Christmas
  • Instrumental in removing some judges too lenient on sex offenders
  • Exposing corruptions at Fannie Mae with Congressman Barney Frank
  • Put the pressure on the DoD on the Beau Bergdahl case.
  • Support numerous charities
  • 2nd most trusted news personalities by Newsmax.

Talent Wasted

My personal feeling is that Jon Stewart has wasted his talent. He could have done so much good with his God given talent and instead use it to prop up a failed liberal progressive administration of Barack Obama. He became the "useful idiot", willingly I may add, to attack the opposition and support a failed agenda. I predict history will not be kind to President Obama and his supporters.

Doing The Most Good

Bring people together should be the goal of all trying to help. He could have reached out to conservatives and discuss real issues and come up with some solutions such as the immigration crisis, sanctuary cities, IRS abuses, Iran nuclear deal and Obamacare and NSA spying on Americans and race relations. He could try to educate the youth about crony capitalism and abuses of wall street and the evil of student debt. There are numerous common grounds between liberals and conservatives. On social issues, he could have presented both sides to show there are real concerns over legalization of pot and to the legalization of gay marriage. Jon Stewart took the easy path instead of finding real solutions.

Making Amends...

Here is a suggestion for Jon Stewart. He can start by making some amends by joining with Bill O'Reilly and support the passing of Kate Steinle Law. If one person's life can be saved as a result, he would have accomplished more in this one act than the 16 years spent on The Daily Show.

Summary

Jon Stewart is a talented performer. He has spent the last 16 years on The Daily Show. He has little to show for it. Winning Emmys is just a confirmation from his peers that he is funny and entertaining. He did this at the expense of Fox News and bending the truth. He is a smart man and he knew exactly what he was doing. It is time he spend some effort to help the American people. Karma has a strange way of making things right. I hope he will take my advice. Goodbye to The Daily Show.
