Why to Create a Fake Facebook Account?

Updated on August 23, 2012

Some individuals doubt that there is a true reason to have a fake Facebook account. But then we must put into definition, what is Facebook? The website is a social networking area. According to the definition of "social networkings", it exists as "the use of dedicated websites and applications to communicate informally with other users, or to find people with similar interests to oneself".

If this is the true definition, then why are these individuals upset? Using this definition, Facebook is a website filled with different groups of people. There are goths, emo's, preppy children, the geeks, the dorks, etc. The groups that existed in high school and college, have come back from the horror of our pasts and continue to haunt us. What these individuals who are frustrated with fake Facebook accounts are upset about? They are furious at the individuals who are hidding their true selves, their little hidden hobbies, or their dirty deeds. Facebook exists to connect with those who you know in real life or to go out of your comfort zone and to find other individuals who have similar interests that you connect with.

Your Hidden Hobby

There are quite a few individuals who have fake Facebook accounts to hide their other lives. Or, in the views of some teachers, it is to hide their real lives from their students and the parents. This also applies to professors, police officers, etc. They have a "professional" account with their real name for all of the world to see. This is what they want to be viewed as. It has their true name, correct birth date, actual information about where they work, their education, and which city they live in.

Then, there exists their "personal" account. Almost nothing in this account is real. The name on the account is a nickname that they came up with. For example, consider the name as a different part of yourself, much like an ego. It is best that the personal account have no affiliation with the professional account. Facebook does not allow one e-mail address to be used with two accounts. So another e-mail address will be required for a personal account.

The personal account is for the wild side, for you to enjoy the things you don't want others to know about. You could have a fake account mainly to hide the alcoholic parties from your students or to act like a regular person instead of a police officer. Many individuals have a personal account for sexual acts they wish to hide such as dominatrix, submission, embarassment, etc. They find other individuals just like them to indulge their sexual fantasies. These sexual acts would ruin them if known openly to their friends and family so a fake account is the perfect place to hide their additions and hobbies.

Warning

It is never acceptable to go after children on Facebook using a fake account. If you get caught, you will be played with, dominated, and possibly killed in prison.

In creating a fake profile, understand your reasons before you begin. Your reasons for getting away from life should be clear and your goal have rules to keep yourself protected and your true self safe.
