A Man, A Tree
And he looked up and said, "I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around."
Marks 8:24
The above verse is the answer given to Jesus from a blind man that Jesus healed in Bethsaida. You may read what happened at:Mark 8: 22 - 26. I cannot really interpret more than what is written in the Bible, but I can find other verses where men are described as trees. In this case I will share Jeremiah 17:7-8
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
A woman, a rose
I compare women with roses, and for this explanation I wrote a hub but I wanted to compare men with something, then came the tree. From the day I saw the comparative I stumbled with things that gave me more understanding as I visualized a man with a tree.
Eric wrote a hub titled: Women is there a man in your life? and quoted: "But the point is that somewhere down that road of the 1900's women got brainwashed into thinking they were not women. Do you get my point"
Then I saw the opportunity to put together the comparison of a man, a tree.Of course there is a man in every woman's life ... a father, grandfather, uncle, brother, husband, son, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, admirer, neighbor, a president...heeyy you guys are all over.
I love God, and the Bible was written inspired by Him; I do not doubt it, and each day I confirm that knowledge by my own experiences with our Creator, Lord and Savior. It is actually from the Bible that this comparison came of a man, a tree.
A man, a tree: planted by water
Who better than our Creator to know the efficiency of a tree planted by water? This importance strives in exactly the words from every text found in the Bible, the Word of God for our joy, living our life.
A man, a tree planted by water is an extraordinary habitat for wildlife. Human nature in its wild form needs to be led spiritually, educated, and held to reduce risks of flooding of worldly contamination and stabilizing the banks from vain philosophies. John 7:38 says: "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'" A man, a tree than, ought to reflect the source of the tree of life which is Jesus. Revelation 2:7 says: "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God."
The only way to get in the paradise of God is by Jesus "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6).
A man, a tree: sends out its roots by the stream
Fathers watch over the guys their daughter's are dating. They watch over their son's buddies. Men are protectors just like trees filter sewage and farm chemicals. They reduce the harmful effects of concentrated animal wastes, and clean water runoff that enters streams.
Trees break the force of wind to help keep topsoil in place. Their roots bind the soil contributing to bank stabilization. Isn't this one of a man's positions in society? I believe it is.
A man, a tree: does not fear when heat comes
Oh yes, there is a man in everybody's life; a man, a tree does not fear when heat comes, he is there giving support.
Heat is present even after death parts and empty nests appear. Heat is in the rush of living. Heat is in our body's nature. It is in the hot flashes, mood swings, sleep disturbance, menstruation, vaginal dryness, menopause, increase or decrease in sexual pleasures, etc.
The fact is that a man, a tree is there to provide shade and cool air creating oxygen. A man, a tree rests in God's will and acts by wisdom. A man, a tree will stand firm for us. His strength comes from God and in our weakness God's glory is manifested.
A man, a tree: for its leaves remain green
Proverbs 11:28 says: "He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf." Who are we without God? A man, a tree knows the sources of his riches that are provided by God.
The riches of a man are not only material, but those of a godly heart. The riches of a man's leaves act as giant filters cleaning the air we breath. A man, a tree cleans the air by intercepting airborne particles, reducing heat, and absorbing pollutants such as carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide.
A man. a tree will check to intercept movies, Internet navigation and games, etc... that may harm the souls of his loved ones.
A man, a tree: is not anxious in the year of drought
A man, a tree searches security for his people. provides a good home, and provides the hard hand work. A man, a tree is not anxious in the year of drought, because he did what he had to do. Many trees grow old and die; logs that have fallen into a stream will make great habitat for fish. Isn't this what we are talking about?
A man, a tree: does not cease to bear fruit
Galatians 5:22-23 gives the fruit that a man, a tree should be able to produce by the Holy Spirit from his personal relationship with God:
- love
- joy
- peace
- patience
- kindness
- goodness
- faithfulness
- gentleness
- self-control
A man, a tree taught by nature
Final words
My first answer to Eric was: "Somewhere down the road of my life, I got brainwashed into thinking I was a human. I got your point!!!"
My second answer was: "Perhaps not 'brainwashed', but circumstances has lead women to take over men's positions, starting with the absence of men to attend war issues. Another fact is, and I am sorry to say it...but where are the men that were men?"
Men leave us by ourselves for many reasons; they are not forever present. By that fact I started as a woman to know my human nature, besides my woman nature. We were created to be men's helpers, not slaves, not their sexual toys, but their helpers; so if the man around your life...or you, the man reading this hub...has a hard time being a man, a tree; let's all put our part and lift up that inner tree to be functional for the peace and joy of the world in God's will.
We all, be it men, or women, children, or adults have responsibilities and the need to surrender to our Creator, Lord and Savior to be part of the Tree of Life.
Blessings to all!
