Problem is, using such trendy names means your child will go through life automatically dated. Like the McKenzie 's and Tiffany 's, Jason's and Dillon 's of the nineties -- may as well wear a date stamp. Some of these names are so ... I don't know -- makes me hanker for good old John, James, Mary and Ann.

I just don't get "Truck" or "Vessel," but who am I? :)

Anyhow, I am expecting my first grandchild in September-a boy-so I don't think I'll show the parents this list!!!

Thanks, Ladybird-wow, I'm gettin' old!

Melinda, how are you? Yes, it was a fun list to pt together, my niece helped me!

Immartin, you have a true gift with words. Yes, these are different, no doubt. Thanks for responding!

lorlie6, yep, I am getting old too my niece had to help me (or convince me :) Thanks for responding, I like Truck, but not sure about Vessel :)

myownworld, yes, these are out there but it was fun, not sure if I would use Pistol for my son's name but some of the others were pretty cool.

Interesting. Those unisex names are surely going to drive teachers crazy in the future. :>)

Very interesting list of names. When I was naming my children I tended to stick to the tried and true. However I do like some of these names.

Interesting names. I don't care as much for the unisex names as the others but some are really unique and I like them a lot. good hub.

Fun hub Ladybird33. I found some quite names on the lists and while I agree with naming your child something unique I'm not all that into the trendy names. When you name your child you gotta think, in a few years is my kid gonna be teased to death with a name like Coco? lol

Ken, didn't even think of the teachers but you are soooo right!

Jen, I am not sure that I love all of the either but that is why we are different but trust me, the weird, unique names are the next generation.

fastfreta, I am so happy you spotted by, how are you? I like unique names to a point...but the family names are always important (to me).

Pamela99, these are interesting names and I like researching it. Thanks for reading.

ng2008, it was a fun hub! You are so right about the names when they are older or nicknames that can be attached, you know. Thanks for coming to read my hub!
