Teen Series --} Gossip Girl books by Cecily von Ziegesar
The TV Series is pretty stand alone from the books, besides the characters, but the books are really fun to read, a guilty pleasure beach book, following the whole scandalous lives of teens..
Think of it as every exciting thing that happens to you put together with good fashion, lots of money, and the Upper East Side of NYC.
My son's enjoy The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Lord of the Rings Series, and the The Harry Potter Series. Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and The Host by Stephenie Meyer, The House of Night Series, also Eldest, Eragon and Brisingr, by Christopher Paolini I hear are popular for teen girls. I have read the one's my son's read, they were good! The Hitchhikers guide is funny and strange, but in a good way! Loved all of the The Lord of the Rings books and The Harry Potter books. Now get reading!

When I was younger I used to read Meg Cabot..(Princess Dairies series) she writes one of the best and funniest novels. Try her adult type... there not too bad that a teen can't read.
There's Louise Rennison with the Georgia series (laughed so hard that I had to read the books in private) The first book is Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging.
There's the A-List, written by the same author as the Gossips Girls.. I found the A-List much better... it's basically the LA version of Gossip Girls.
There are so, so many great teen books out there. Some of the better ones I have read include:
> "Listening at the Gate" by Betsy James. It's a unique story about two people who don't belong where they are, but don't belong anywhere they go. It's a remarkable story of friendship, young love, belonging, and hope.
> "Stealing Heaven" By Elizabeth Scott. It's about a mother-daughter team that goes from town to town stealing silver. Until the daughter realizes that this isn't the life she wants. Another unique book.
> "Living Dead Girl" by Elizabeth Scott. It's a heartbreaking story of a girl kidnapped from a young age and is forced to live with her kidnapper. It is a very powerful story.
The Nightworld series, which are a rather glossy take on vampires, witches and werewolves, mixed up with an unhealthy amount of teenage Angst; and the "World of the Alfar" books by Elizabeth Boyer, which are Nordic fantast/adventures about a magical world of elves, dragons, necromancers and so on that is just beyond our own.

What is the best fiction or non fiction book you have ever read?I'm in a constant search for good reads, and I found it infinitely easier and more rewarding if I just ask other people what their favorites are (kinda like asking a waiter/waitress what their favorite meal on the menu is... you can...

What non-fiction book have you read that has changed your life?Personally, I have had a few, but the one that sticks out for me is "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge. It talks about fatherhood and having a warrior heart.
