My children all exhibit a sense of social justice. I love to hear about my adult children's experiences. Often they'll start with "Do you remember the time when you ..." - and then go on with a similar story of their own.
Even as youngsters they would never turn their backs on other kids who needed help, would intervene and stand up to bullies, challenge teachers who behaved badly, and bring home lost puppies and troubled teenagers.
I'm very pleased I didn't set them a bad example. Their lives could have turned out very differently.
