Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
6-ounce package semisweet
1 cup chopped nuts
butter and shortening with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds.
Add sugars, baking soda, cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt; beat until well combined.
Beat in eggs, vanilla, and lemon juice till combined. Beat in flour. Stir in rolled oats,
chocolate, and nuts. Drop from rounded teaspoon on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake in a 375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly brown.
Makes about 60 cookies.
