Every one loves classic yellow cake. Classic yellow cake is moist and has a wonderful flavour we all love. This classic cake is easy to make even though there are many steps which goes in to making of this wonderful cake.


Ingredients:

  1. Granulated Sugar: 1 ½ cups.
  2. Egg Yolks ( Yellow) 8.
  3. Milk: ¾ Cup.
  4. Butter: 1 cup and please use butter nothing else.
  5. Vanilla: 2 tsp.
  6. Salt: ½ Tsp.
  7. Baking Powder: 2 Tsp
  8. Cake Flour: 2 cups.


Directions

  1. Pre head oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Take two 9 inch cake pans.
  3. Take care that they are quite deep at least 2 inches deep as this cake can rise a lot.
  4. Now in a bowl mix the the cake flour, baking powder and salt.
  5. Keep aside.
  6. Now in another bowl, add butter and sugar.
  7. Mix them well for couple of minutes and after each minute do scrap down the walls of the bowl.
  8. Add one egg yolk and beat well.
  9. Add other egg yolks one at a time beating well.
  10. Care should be taken to add only one egg yolk at one time and then beat with butter sugar mixture before adding next yolk.
  11. Add Vanilla.
  12. Now take a small portion of flour and mix well in this mixture.
  13. Take small portion of milk and mix well with this mixture.
  14. Repeat 12th and 13th steps till all flour and milk is added to mixture, care should be taken that last portion to be added should be flour.
  15. Must scrap the walls of bowl after mixing flour each time.
  16. Batter should be thick now.
  17. Divide the batter in to two parts and put them in 9 inch cake pans.
  18. Bake both in the preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes and check if the cake is made. Put a skewer in the middle of cake and if it comes out clean then it is made otherwise bake for another 5 minutes.
  19. If you use cupcakes instead of pans then fill them only 1/3 as cake would rise and cook for only 20 minutes.
  20. Let it cool for 10 minutes ( 3 minutes if cooking in cupcakes).
  21. Remove from pan.

Tip:

1. If you do not have cake flour then you can take 2 cups of all purpose flour and add to it 2 tsp of cornstarch.
