I was stunned today when I read the headlines that Rue McClanahan (Blanche in The Golden Girls) died today of a massive stroke. She was the youngest of them all. I know she was seventy-six but, it to me by surprise. It seems Betty White is the only surviving Golden Girl. Any fans of the show have anything they want to say.

That is very true, she was a great actress. I really enjoy the show. I still watch it , even though it has been in syndication  for a long time. Thanks for stopping by.

So, was my mother. I found it funny from time to time, when I would sit with her and watch it.

Then again, I've seen most of the actresses in other things and it's sad, but death is part of life. I'm sure you can go out and buy all the shows and re-run them for however long you like. lol

I hope you didn't cry. hmm

I watch the reruns of WeTV and no I don't cry over the death of celebrities. I just was very surprised. I never realized she had so many health issues.

Or did you not pay attention to her age and just enjoyed her acting? Hmmm.....? lol lol

I know she was already seventy six so she did die of a ripe old age. Betty White is the oldest cast member and she's still around, so age does not always determine who dies first.

I did enjoy her acting very much. I think they were all outstanding actresses.

76 is a ripe old age? yikes

Okay, if you say so. But, I am glad you enjoyed the show. wink

Thanks. I guess given all the syndication this show has gotten it is a classic. It has been syndicated from one cable channel to another and yet has not lost it's appeal. It must be great for the creators of the show, to be receiving so much in residual income from their royalties. One thing no one can deny that the greatest asset of this show is the actresses.

It is no different than your hubs, except for the fact that they get more. lol

Hubs are a different market all together. Broadcasting that is big money. Who ever thought of this show, must be very glad he/she did. I wish I had a hub that resembled the Golden Girls. I might write one on the Golden Girls, who knows.

I really like Betty White. It's really hard to choose they are all such great actresses. I really liked Rue also and Estelle. I just found Dorothy's snide remarks kind of added some spice to the show.

The show was always filled with one-liners, from one another on to another. It was a cool show and I can see how much you liked it. smile wink

I agree. Writing like that is hard to come by. I wish I could come up with one liner like those.
