what say you?
i am not willing to continue paying for more bureacracy...
http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=173169
Without a doubt, reducing the size of bureaucracy is one of our biggest problems, partly because of the unions that these government workers are allowed to have. Look at California. I hope our next president, will be able to do something about that but it will be a nasty uphill battle.
...not sure we can sit around and wait for the next president to be different...what can be done now to start change?
As a citizen, we can complain to our representatives, vote for those that at least say they will bring something different to government...,
but I want more ideas on how to change how I live my daily life to get me out of having to work in a system that perpetuates what is wrong...
bloated bureaucracy...how do I contribute to that? how do the states contribute to that? etc...?
It's almost too big for any one person or even a group to get rid of the unions. The politicians depend on these public employee unions to bring in the votes because they vote as one big bloc. I think the only way to counter it is if maybe the various Small Business Associations somehow coordinate their efforts on a local scale to have more political pull but small businessowners are so stretched for time when it comes to running their businesses that they don't have a chance to be political.
...unions...don't join them!!! there's the answer to that one
if fewer people refuse to join them, and be independent workers or small businesses, that would fix unions
I think it boils down to getting educated on why unions and the conceptual ideas behind them are not conducive to personal freedoms and constitutional liberties...I certainly would have to do my research to define that education...
Simple Math... it's not just the Government that can't do it. Each time I point out the Theft Perpetuated by the Federal Reserve and Fractional Reserve Banking those who can't do simple math "Chime in" and have some illogical statement about how it's the Republicans fault or something equally as silly.
I read that right now roughly 50% of the American Public relies on the Government for the majority of their income. By 2020 it's expected to be 67%. And grow from there.
So we end up with a public that is on the Government payroll and will never vote to get off because it effects their own personal income.
What we have here is the COLLAPSE of the United States in the making. Because Government doesn't produce.
Do the people of the United States really want to be ruled and walked on... is the United States looking at China as the model for how we want to live?
Each time Obama implements his "Change" more agencies are created to regulate that change.
If you think it's bad now... wait until his Health Care agenda kicks in fully. Wait until Cap and Tax takes effect.
There isn't a chance in Hell of America surviving Obama's Socialistic vision... unless of course you don't mind being told what to do, how to do it, and when you can do it.
That's no way I want to live.
Well there was a statistic that 50% of the population doesn't pay federal income tax. That is a very awful statistic, because that means 50% of the population is on welfare. We are a more of socialist society than I care to realize and 50% of our population is already dependent on government.
...until all people start looking at the stats and wake up, and start thinking about what they individually can do to make themselves more independent of government, it will continue to downward spiral.
For those of us already in that state of mind to a large extent, we either need to band together to help perpetuate a healthy system and create our own economic system, or we are going to have to oust the current government system...actually...doing the first one will implement the other.
but I do advocate maintaining the transition we are trying to implement currently to change government...get new people in that think about government being more as the constitution inspired
I am not for violent revolution...just individual revolution!

The public sector unions have threatend mass stike action over pensions, do you think that this is the right thing to do? Is it fair that in the present climate for a group of people to inflict the threat of misery for personal gain?

With all that is going on in Wisconsin in opposition to a freely elected governor attempting to improve the economy of his state one has to wonder. Taking into account the amazing access union leaders have had to Barack Obama one has to wonder. Considering the participatory community...

There has been another round of public sector strikes here in the UK with Firefighters, local government workers and teachers (depending on which Union they belong to) amongst the 500,000 - 1,000,000 workers ( depending on who you ask) who decided not to attend work today. Their grievances...
