Asking this because I've been wondering whether I need to spend time write about stuff that other people have already written about. I'm not productive, have not much time to write, so when I write, I do have to keep SE in mind. Thanks

    Is it based on:

    Time it was written?
    Author score?
    Keyword density?
    Content details (whatever it is)
Quality (how could SE know it has quality)?
    or anything else?

      Not author score.

      Everything else and more, yes.

Would you recommend writing something already on hubpages if it happens to be what I have passion for? Thanks

          Absolutely.

Well, almost absolutely.  The world does not need yet another page detailing the specifications of the latest gadget.

But if you have an argument for an opinion piece or a "How To" on anything, then yes.

YOUR way of explaining something might be exactly what I need to understand it.  I might have read twenty other pages on how to do X, but never really understood it until I saw yours.

So, unless you know for sure that there is no possibility of you adding value, then yes, you should not be concerned with what else has been said.

Get used to Google controlling your life!

As soon as Google TV is fully functional your life, keywords and habits are all going to change hmm

    What should you say?

You write on whatever subject that you wish... AND Don't back off one because someone else has written on the subject.... Just write the subject better than them in original content and you will get good rankings! smile

'As soon as Google TV is fully functional your life, keywords and habits are all going to change' - lol   Google's Automated behaviour modification techniques by definition must mean that Google must self destruct (Google doesnt like  automation!).
