Hello there,
I am very new in blogging. I started two weeks ago and I would like to know how I am doing (right or wrong) Any helping critique is welcome. Please don't take on my your bad day... just kidding.
Thank you,
Cheers,
Put a couple of links of your hubs here. Links are allowed in this forum. You know critique on 18 hubs is too much to ask for and what we do here is hubbing not blogging. Hub differs from blog.
I wasn't expecting to have all 18 blog checked, yet an overall constructive critique from the one you like the best was my question
But how do we know which we like the best without reading them all?
Welcome to HubPages!
However, I would like to inform you that it is okay that you are new to blogging, but HubPages is not about blogging or writing blogs.
A Hub is an article written to be about the size of Magazine articles. Blogs are much shorter.
A Hub Page should be about 400+ words at minimum.
On another note- the Extreme Hub Makeover Forum thread is for critiquing, like you've asked for, but you've come here under the pretense of asking people to review ALL of your 18 Hubs and that is unfair.
Please post a few(3) links to Hubs you would like checked out, so that you do not have 18 different people giving 18 different critiques, and could make things more confusing for you.
Just a thought.
Thanks Cagsil,
I wasn't expecting to have all 18 blog checked, yet an overall constructive critique from the one you like the best was my question. Thanks for your welcome, thought and notes.
zmejias, I read your article on Pilates. Though you live in New York, it seems as though you are from a foreign country and it shows up in your hubs.
I am not an expert, but to me, if it doesn't sound right, it probably isn't.
Also, to keep the reader flowing properly through your hubs, you could break up your long, long paragraphs by adding some white space between them.
In addition, you seem to have a problem with prepositions and prepositional phrases.
Example; 1st paragraph, 3rd sentence:
You Wrote: His idea was to focus in realign and strengthen the human body concentrating in the control of mind over the muscles.
Though there are various ways this can be written, here is how I would likely write it.
His idea was to focus on the realignment and strengthening of the body, while concentrating on the control of mind over muscle.
Where past tense present tense is concerned, notice the last sentence in paragraph 1:
You Wrote: After the years this have changed and pilates can now be found in community centers, gyms and physiotherapy rooms, the practice though, took the name of his creator.
This is how I would have written it: After many years Pilates has evolved. These days it can be found at community centers, gyms and physiotherapy rooms. Though some methods of Pilates have changed, the name "Pilates" has remained the same.
Though there are many instances of grammatical errors, I feel you can fix them by reading hubs that are geared toward "how to write."
Keep on practicing, keep on writing and things will smooth out for you.

I joined Hubpages approximately 3 years ago. I have 25 - 30 hubs. All of my published hubs are featured hubs. In 2012 I made a little over $50 revenue on my hubpages hubs. Altogether since I began writing on Hubpages I have reached almost 30,000 views. While perusing the forums I see...

Is there a reason why hubbers do not accept constructive criticism and/or corrections? Am I the only grown-up on this site who takes corrections as a means of making my hubs better and myself informed? I, not wanting to let a hubber I started to follow look like a fool, decided to correct this...

I put this in the "answers" section and it actually should've been posted here. Many of us may be not performing to our fullest potential because we haven't taken a critical eye to each others' content. I would like to offer you some constructive criticism. If you have a hub or...

I see this message when my Hub is rejected: "Heads up! It looks like your Hub is not cleared for publication because it did not pass the Quality Assessment Process. No need to fret; every new Hubber goes through Boot Camp, and all you need to do is improve the Hub so that it meets our quality...
