Buying from your own Amazon affiliate id

    Can we buy stuff from our own amazon affiliate id on Hubpages?

    I think it is not allowed in other sites.

    What are the rules on hubpages regarding this?

      I think if you order things from your own ID/IP, you get no money.

      Sekhar - It's not a HubPages rule -- it's in Amazon's TOS:

      You may not purchase products during sessions initiated through your own Associates links and will not receive referral fees for such orders. This includes orders for customers, orders on behalf of customers, and orders for products to be used by you, your friends, your relatives, or your associates in any manner.

    You can buy from your own links, but you earn no commission.

    As already mentioned in this thread, you get no commission.

    So don't buy things through your own hub. It's not just a HubPages rule, but a part of Amazon's Terms of Service.

    Rather go to someone elses hub, even if they don't have a product that you want, and click through on one of their Amazon links and then search for what you're after and buy it that way.

    By doing this you'll share some of the love (and $$$).

    There are ways to get around this limitation wink


    1) You can write squidoo lens and buy items from that lens.

    2) Buy from your friends lens or hub as explained in this reply.

    Hmm...I bought a product from my own Amazon ID and got a commission.  Not on hubpages though.  My own site.

    Seeing as your question already has been answered, I am curious on something. Personally I would feel wrong buying from my own ID, as I thought they could offer commission. I'm glad to see they don't, but I'm sure there are people out there who would try to make money by cheating the system.

    I never did agree with things like that. Buying from another hubber is a way to support the community. With any luck, maybe you'll get the favor returned someday.
