On the amazon associates blog it states that the first month will credited to you of 39 dollars and then you will be charged the normal rate of 39 dollars after that. Am I getting this wrong? I thought selling through amazon was free?

Can you take a screenshot of the page you are viewing? This sounds pretty weird.

It is free. Not sure what you're reading, but it doesn't cost you anything to promote/sell Amazon products.

Edited to add: That $39 fee is if you plan on selling products of your own on Amazon.

lrohner has already pointed out - that's if you sell a product of your own via Amazon. As in - you develop a new WOW type game and or buy a load of clothing then sell it on Amazon.

As an affiliate you are selling FOR Amazon.
