What is Your Favorite Movie Soundtrack? Why?

   Ever since the days of silent movies, music has played a huge part in the film industry. Just like TV or radio commercials, it's hard to imagine a movie without music.
   
   What is YOUR fav soundtrack? Film Name / Year / Composer, please (if you can't remember look it up on Hubpages. Or Goog it or go to IMDb).
   
   Why? Did anything about the movie (plot, actors, etc.) influence your choice?

      3."In the Waiting Line" - Zero 7

      5."I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You" - Colin Hay
      6."Blue Eyes" - Cary Brothers
      7."Fair" - Remy Zero
      8."One of These Things First" - Nick Drake
      9."Lebanese Blonde" - Thievery Corporation
      10."The Only Living Boy in New York" - Simon & Garfunkel
      11."Such Great Heights" (Postal Service cover) - Iron & Wine
      12."Let Go" - Frou Frou
      13."Winding Road" - Bonnie Somerville
      
      It's such a beautiful and qwerky film - the soundtrack fits so perfectly.  Guess that's why  Zach Braff was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for a Motion Picture.

         Thanks dude...hopefully we can get the soundtrack forum rollin'.
         
         Without too much thought right now I like O11's soundtrack (the original tracks were done by David Holmes, 2001). It just makes me crack up.
         
         Inception (by Hans Zimmer, 2010) is awesome. A great live version of that score is up on U-Stream btw.
         
         And the ending to The International (Matthew Bellamy, Tom Tykwer, Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil, 2009) has the most swagger I've heard in a while.

   Top choice for me would be
   The Main Soundtrack (Theme Tune)for Steven Spielbergs film "Schindler's List" (1993)written by John Williams, (the violin is played by Itzhak Perlman).
   
   A very emotional tune.
   
   Other favourites include:-
   
   Saving Private Ryan - another John Williams composition.
   
   Lord of the Rings - Howard Shore
   
   Harry Potter (1st film theme) - John Williams (again)
   
   Pirates of the carribean - Hans Zimmer
   
   Jurrasic Park - John Williams (again)
   
   and one more
   
   The Main Theme from Band of Brothers by Michael Kamen.(though that is mini-series not film)

      Zimmer's score to Inception is quite thrilling as well.

   my favorites are in no particular order~
   
   Thin Red Line- Hans Zimmer- 1998 - the emotion is so real in this film.
   
   Gladiator- Zimmer- 2000 - hauntingly powerful
   
   Lord of the Rings- Howard Shore- 2001-03- the movies would never be what they are without this music. we have the set of movies with all the extra info and interviews. it's very inspiring to hear what goes into these productions.
   
   can't forget The Lion King- Zimmer- 1994- brilliant
