Good question!
It's too funny - whenever I see the usual "heart" symbol used in a slogan to represent the word love, my brain translates it as "heart" not "love" - pretty literal for a non-linear thinker. Yet, when I read this tattoo, my brain immediately popped in the "heart" symbol and translated it as "love" ...go figure
