size of photos in Hubs

   I have read advice from more experienced Hubbers that photos should be placed to the right of the text.  I used the template for a new Hub, and it says to use full width photos (if they are good, etc.).  I found some great photos that I will attribute of course.  They look really good on the Hub, but before I publish, I want to know what others think.
   
   BTW:  I really like the template.  It forces me to remember to do certain things that sometimes I forget to do.

      Yes, I have placed a lot of photos to the right of the text, but as you say, and as I have read too, they are suggesting using full width photos, so I am starting to do so when feasible and when it makes sense to do so in the body of the hub.  I try to use at least five (as they also suggest), but will mix it up with the full width and the ones I place to the right of text when appropriate.

      I think the "photo to the right" thing at the top of the article, at least, has to do with Google finding text to analyze "above the fold."

      As you can see there are lots of different opinions.   Personally, in the past when HP stressed that pictures vbe on the right, I strongly diagreed with them and after just a few hubs, I started placing all my pictures full width   and I use 4 to 10 pictures per hub.   If I used more than that I might put them onthe right.   Or pictures of the steps in a recipe might go on the right,
      
      But if your photographs or pictures are high quality and essential to the flow of your text, then 100% of the time I vote for full width.   Its an artistic, creative, visual thing.  Good luck!

   I think where you place the photo and how big it is all depends on how important it is to your hub.  If it is a filler photo then definitely small and to the right, but if it is vital to your hub and adds to your information larger and center is certainly okay.
   Placing a photo in the center draws attention to it so you want to make sure it should really be there and that it adds interest and compliments your hub.

      Thanks!  I think my photos are very important and backs up the information I provided  on the Hub.  They seem to appear clear.
      I'll keep them in the center.

         I would agree with this, given that there are not so many photos that the reader must do an inordinate amount of scrolling.
         
         Some of my hubs have 20+ photos; close up views of what is being discussed.  There are so many that not only are they flushed right, but thumbnailed as well.

   It really depends on the subject matter of the hub whether to use a full width picture or to push it to the right.  I have been placing a full width picture as the first capsule then a text ---> picture capsule (side by side) just under that.  I do this to force the Google adsence block down a bit so it is not aligned with the HP ad in the Right sidebar.  There is already a google ad in the header (when you are logged out) so there are at least 3 ads above the fold already.  Using images and other capsules is a way to manipulate the placement of that 2nd google ad.
   
   A large vivid image is appealing to a searcher as long as the image is related to the content of the page. Made for Pinterest images are sometimes useful as the second image which is pushed to the right.  But if you plan to have a lot of images then you should probably render most of them as thumbnails so that it does not impede page load times.

      I like the way it looks to the right of the text capsule, but I think having some full width pictures included is a good idea.

   I think that it depends on the placement and purpose of the image. Typically I do include a minimum of two or three full sized photos in a hub, regardless of the content at hand. Also, as a general rule, I always use a full photo at the very top of the hub. Some layouts cater to the right toggled images while other layouts lend themselves naturally to the full format.
