On October 1st, H. Res. 368 was passed, disallowing Congresspersons except Speaker Boener from calling for the Government to open back up. What do you think of that? Seems kind of not right. Kind of dictatorial. Not very democratic or republican. More like a sneaky take-over.

    Here's a video: http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/pla … 5&tt=b

Edit: H. Res. 368 gives majority leader Eric Cantor sole power over opening the Government back up. http://thisweekinblackness.com/2013/10/ … own-video/

So, House resolution No. 368  suddenly gives the head of the majority party sole power to decide when the government may resume operations.  That person happens to be Eric Canter. He is the Republican party's house majority leader and has been since 2011. He is 48. He is a Gemini. Astrologically, he loves parties, art, and social activities. He was born 2 years after Obama.

Obama is a Leo. He has always worked hard for every thing he has attained. He does not have much fun in life, but he does like attention. Obama has a No. 2 life style and actually likes being married. He makes a devoted husband. I do not get the impression he is evil. His true aspirations are to help his people and the down trodden. He believes in what he is doing. He will not back down or Michelle Obama, a Capricorn who loves money and wealth, will frown at him severely. He is not tyrannic or dictatorial... just very committed to his idealistic notions.

Now back to Eric. He has always had it easy. He's representing Virginia. He probably loves his house and home and most likely has a wife, kids and a couple of dogs. He is not a bad sort either. He probably loves America and will soon open up the government.

        Questions:
        1. How are House resolutions decided?
        2. Why was the privilege of when to open the govt. given to just one person.
        3. Whose privilege was it to decide, (when to open the govt.,) previously?
        4. Is it fair or not fair that only one person, (the one representing the Majority party) has the deciding factor?

*It appears to give the Republicans, in this situation, the advantage.

        Answer to #3 from video.
*Previously under 22, 4, Democrats or Republicans in either house had the privilege of calling up the senate bill to open up the government.

*On Oct. 1, 2013 this rule was altered.

Conspiracy Theory: The puppet string holders want the Republicans to take the blame. They do not want the people to blame the democrats for the Government shut down.
        ?
Why else would the power be handed over to the Republicans so easily?

        Dazed and Confused

This issue is apparently very complicated and is a mere snapshot of some bigger picture. What could it be?

It is not Boehner in control. It's Catholic bishops who, according to breaking news of this evening, have been agitating for over a week to include a "conscience clause" (read---no health insurance coverage for birth control for women) and got some House GOP members to sign on to it today AND include it in the bill to avert the upcoming financial crisis. This is past crazy!

Very interesting... conscience clause... however, it has already been established by LAW that taxpayers should not pay for abortions!

(and with that the atheists will show up. Thanks for nothing, mbuggieh)

...just kidding. Thanks for shedding some light on the continuing mystery/saga.

This is not for abortions OR for taxpayer funding. This was for a wide-ranging "conscience" exception to allow insurance companies and employers to decide whether or not women's (and women specifically as the bill included birth control coverage for men---vasectomies) health insurance policies would include coverage for birth control.

The bill was so problematic that Boehner pulled it from a vote. You can imagine, I am sure, the repercussions of presenting for a vote a bill to fund the government---not deal with Obamacare at all, but just to fund the government, that in the process denied American women access to birth control coverage through health insurance.

Let's be realistic. Is it possible in the 21st century to connect funding the government and securing the US economy to (essentially) denying women access to birth control?

If this is true how come it works just fine for Harry Reid in the senate?  He hasn't allowed an amendment in the senate in months.  He doesn't even let Democrats make amendments in the Senate.

Harry Reid: Old guy from Nevada. Democratic House Majority leader. Sagittarius: born on the second. Probably loves his wife who puts up with his love of freedom. He might have owned a horse or two. Probably has a least one baby boomer kid who always shows up for a hand out, which he complies to.
(Just surmising based on astrology and numerology... maybe I could get in trouble... maybe I better do some actual research.)

John Boehner: Speaker of the United States House of Representatives: Republican from Ohio. Baby boomer born in '49,  so he's in his mid 60's. He and Harry Reid probably try not to even look at each other.  Likes money, earns it easily, probably has a magnificent house ... Scorpio, might live alone by now... probably drives a black chevy, like maybe a '13 Camaro. Definitely loves power. Might live in Cincinnati, Ohio.
        (Probably not, just astrologically surmising.)
Anyway, he offered up a short term agreement until Nov. 22. It doesn't end the shutdown... it offers an exchange for raising the debt limit and avoiding default.
He wants further negotiations with President Obama. He wants Harry Reid and Obama to agree that the President and the Congressional members will also abide by PPACA stipulations, along with the rest of us.

Indeed, what is the justice of their being excluded? They are people too, as in: "We" the People.

... so, was the resolution a way to shut up the likes of Boehner? He is probably quietly smoldering....
