Here's a thought. Since HP rates our hubs numerically before they feature them, why not give a specific number to each hub as it is being written. That way, writers could see whether they need to improve upon what they have written. The suggestion box at the upper right is great, but it does not really tell us where we stand. Any thoughts?
From my limited coding experience I guess creating a computer algorithm to do that would be a massive pain in the bottom to get working without significant bugs.
There are so many variables to consider, and if it was only based of measurable criteria the it would disregard the most important criteria, how well written the hub is. A computer would't be able to tell the quality of your content (well not without a huge team of programmers and many years perfecting a system.).
@lbsf1 you are right. Assuming that the review process is done by human than adding option to do 'pre-review' would simply increase their work by many factors.
Also creating the algorithm for the process would not be easy.
For now just publish and 'unpublish' is probably enough in most cases.
And yet, they already are rating the hubs on a 10 point scale, are they not? Doesn't this mean the algorithm for doing so is already in place? I am only asking that they reveal what score they placed a hub on...is this so difficult to do?
Also, they already have a box in the edit mode that makes suggestions if problems seem to exist, such as fuzzy photos, for example. Why could this not be added?

I am sort of disappointed. I try to be active in the site as much as possible, comment on other people's hubs, help out in the forums, add new hubs once every two weeks, participate in the question and answer and my hubscore is slowly decreasing. Any advice from expert Hubbers on how to...

Although many have suffered over the past year and a half for traffic, some have done better or atleast been able to recoup most of the original visitors numbers they had. I have a few suggestions or ideas that could be pondered!I am currently unpublishing most of my lowest performing hubs (even a...

This seems like a promising journey!I've been here for twelve or so days and I have eight articles done. I have another five on the burners, too! My question, would that count, or would I start fresh and push for 30 Hubs? I'm not sure how this challenge works, on that end, but I like the idea of...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

I joined HubPages 4 months ago for one and only purpose - making money and becoming rich overnight. I thought, "Of course, all I need to do is put some articles out there and money will pour down from everywhere".Fast forward 4 months, I have barely made $2 from those articles. So I...

I just cannot get the Google gods to keep my latest hub indexed, that is a problem all on its own. (It is listed nicely on Yahoo and Bing)The hub was written to be used as a reference from already existing hubs. I planned on linking several hubs to this hub and link to several hubs out of...
