Generating invalid clicks for your Adsense ads is one of the major violations Google hates; especially clicking on your own ads; I was wondering if their is a way to block tempting ads from appearing on my end only, and don't affect ad appearance for other visitors and hubbers. I just clicked on an ad and made a purchase, I don't want this to happen again since very soon I'l be applying for Adsense and I don't wanna get into trouble with Google. Any assistance will be highly appreciated!

Which browser do you use? Your best option is to install AdBlock so that you won't see any ads and thus there will be no chance of accidentally clicking your ads (or being tempted).

You can also set it up to only block ads on your HubPages subdomain if you want to keep supporting other websites you visit by not blocking their ads.

      SimilarSam:
I use Mozilla Firefox, I think blocking my HP's sub domain is the best option since clicking ads on other sites has no effect on my Adsense account I suppose..Is AdBlock compatible with Firefox? And will it affect visibility of ads when someone else visit my my HP sub domain? As in, I only need the ads blocked for me and not my visitors.

The plugin is available for Mozilla Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo … lock-plus/)

Installing it will stop ads from appearing on pages you visit from your computer only. It has no impact on the visibility of ads when someone else visits your subdomain.

The Chrome version has an option to "Show ads everywhere except for these domains" where I would add your HubPages sub-domain. Alternatively, you can just stick to the default option of stopping ads on every page that you visit. I don't like doing this as like to support websites by not disabling their ads (provided they aren't intrusive).

Search for Ghostery for Firefox? I use Ghostery on most sites. I only whitelist a few sites which I want to support. It blocks all sort of trackers too. (NOTE: I use Ghostery on Chrome, not sure if it's available for FF)

Ghostery looks really interesting, I'm going to install it on my Chrome browser and try it out. It seems kind of similar to what Avast has added in the past month where you can see all the trackers and disable them.

Not sure about the new addition to avast been really long since I last used them. I love ghostery, I use it to block Analytics on my web properties so that I don't track my own movements big_smile

If you use chrome just install google publisher toolbar. You're allowed to click ads, block them, etc (Without getting paid for them). But only when it's active and you see a sort of blue screen over the ad telling you it's yours. Don't just click ads (As it may not be active at times)
