If the intro text is longer, on various hubs (some of mine as well) there is an Adsense ad right below the image (see image from my hub this morning).
For my own blogs I avoid adding any Adsense below (or next or above) an image, as it might be implied that the two are related. Was just wondering if this won't get me in trouble (obviously Hubpages know what they're doing), I guess just for my own peace of mind (since once you lose your Adsense account, there's no way of getting it back, so I'm a bit paranoid).
I guess what I'm wondering is - is there anything I should be worried about, or all is good and known?
I don't know the answer to your question but I don't like the way the hubs look with those ads right under our beautiful images. So perhaps we should be splitting our first text capsules so it's the same length as our image. Or perhaps, as you say, Adsense know what they're doing here! I personally find it a bit intrusive.
Let's look at some of the experienced Hubber's hubs and see how they do it. Do you have a real hub expert you follow?
I hate being a newby don't you!
I'm looking forward to reading the answers to this question.
Thanks for starting this thread. Have a great day.
I tried several things. First I split the text capsules in two. Adsense got added next to the second text capsule, so result was the same as in the pic above, Adsense simply got added next to the second text capsule. Then I added an Amazon capsule next to the second (split) text capsule, hoping that the Adsense ad would go away. No chance. Instead Adsense got added below Amazon, and you should have seen how horrible it all looked with my photo, then an Amazon pic and then Adsense. Spammy as hell.
Then I added another configuration (but I forgot exactly what I did then), Adsense was still present. So I decided to post here because I really want to make sure that my Adsense account won't get banned (once it's banned, it's permanent) because of wrong Adsense placement.
Basically this is what Adsense has to say on the topic (and that's why I decided to post here - better safe than sorry):
"Can I place small images next to my Google ads?
We ask that publishers not line up images and ads in a way that suggests a relationship between the images and the ads. If your visitors believe that the images and the ads are directly associated, or that the advertiser is offering the exact item found in the neighboring image, they may click the ad expecting to find something that isn't actually being offered. That's not a good experience for users or advertisers.
What if I place a space or a line between my images and my ads? Would that work?
No. If the ads and the images appear to be associated, inserting a small space or a line between the images and ads will not make the implementation compliant.
Does this mean I can't place ads on pages with images?
You can definitely place Google ads on pages containing images -- just make sure that the ads and images are not arranged in a way that could easily mislead or confuse your visitors. For example, if you run a stock photography site with a catalog of thumbnail images, don't line the ads up with the thumbnails in a way that could be misleading. Consider using a full border around your ads or changing your ad colors, for example."
Does this mean that we have to move our images and Amazon products to please adsense? Does it mean that the capsule must be free of images or amazon products and have only adsense/google adverts in each one? . Is this right?
I have a related question. I hope it's OK for me to ask it here:
I have been turned down by adsense at the moment. But their ads are on my hubs -should I go through my hubs and change them making sure that I do the above ( if that's the right thing to do) - or should I wait till they accept me?
Thanks for your help
Hubpages staff ads them. Google only offers the ad codes to be placed on the site.
I honestly don't mind this placement personally, I just want to be sure that indeed all is ok and there's no danger of doing something against Adsense TOS, thus my post asking for confirmation from HP.

Once you've researched, drafted, edited, proofed... and before you've published your hub, you should think about a few things you could do to do it justice and add some extra appeal to it.1) Photo or Illustration? I like at LEAST one image. That way when it comes up in the hub search results it has...

I have been playing with some different layouts as to where I have been putting the photos, amazon ads, and etc. I don't have a lot of traffic. I'm starting to learn about marketing, keywords, and SEO. Even so, I don't have a way to judge how people are perceiving the hubs as far as eye appeal. You...

Does anyone have luck with their Hubs being accepted to a niche site without their Amazon ad getting eliminated? I wrote a Hub in which I detailed my personal experience with a certain product and included an ad for it. It was not forced at all -- very organic -- but got eliminated during the...

I am seeing the kind of traffic I used to get a few years ago after pages have been moved to niche sites but I'm getting a fraction of the Amazon income. There are a lot of factors involved but a main suspect for a significant part of this issue this has to be the replacement of Amazon capsules...

I have one hub that gets great traffic, my best one by far, but doesn't make me much money really and would like advice on how to improve it. Its getting 15k views per month. There is really nothing that could be done to improve its search engine rankings as its at the top. At least for its...

Someone told me that they thought the following hub of mine:http://hubpages.com/hub/High-End-Acoust … latpickersHad a lot of potential, and that I should submit it here. So I'm doing so, and hopefully I'm doing so correctly. I haven't been hanging out in the forum, but I think I...
