What is the expected time to wait to see if a hub is productive?

It varies, based on a lot of variables.

I have been here for almost a year and a half , currently have just over 100 hubs and just recently reached my $100 payout, though my views and earnings seem to be speeding up.

Like many people, I didn't come in  with an "expected time to wait". Earning a grand sum wasn't my primary motivation, so it did not concern me that much.

Some people with more marketing, SEO and keyword knowledge do monetize a lot easier and faster. (Also, sometimes you just get lucky.)

Still, it takes some time. If you are patient and enjoy the experience, you will learn and earnings will grow. Wait and see.

It took me 16 hubs and two months to earn $4.

More than 10 days, that's for sure! smile

It may take a bit of time for Google to find you. Give it a few weeks. You do have quite a bit of competition for the keywords that you chose, so if you're not seeing search engine traffic in 2-3 weeks, you may want to rethink and add to your tags.

I have a hub that's been sitting out there with NO traffic for over a month, and it just hit paydirt.

Thanks! I didn't know if after a week if it made no money if it was a dud.

There is no definite answer ANYONE can give you on this matter. Some hubs start earning instantly, others start earning after months, some never earn.

There are a lot of variables that play into when or if a hub will earn as well.

I have had hubs not earn me a dime for 2-3 weeks, and than just recently make the first page for a certain keyword and start earning me around $1 a day. Other hubs I've published and 10 hours later it is on page 1 for a few search phrases and its already earning.

it is late so sorry if I rambled or said the same things twice, but the answer to that questions is that there IS NO answer to it =P

What Cls1321 said is right. It's different for everyone and for every hub.

I've got 27 hubs now, been here for just over 2 months now.

I have about 6-8 hubs that get clicks regularly, a few others that get a click occasionally, and the rest haven't made anything yet.

Just hang in there, be patient, and things will all come together in time.

    Welcome To HubPages!

How good is your Hub?  How much traffic is it receiving?  Is that traffic well-targeted?  Are your Hubs designed to earn money?

Google finds my hubs in a matter of hours and has been doing so since the first one I published. Some make money the first day, some don't. There is absolutely no way to guage what will happen. Just write alot and your bound to get some winners.

The expected time depends on your hub and can range anywhere from 1 day to infinity.

If you have written a real high-quality hub, then you will start earning instantly. In case your hub is of poor quality, don't even think of earning a dime from it. This is what I have learned here.
