I need a way out!

   Hello all,
   
   I am new to the hub but my son recommended it to me. I am a Registered Mental, Registered General Nurse who is trained in learning disabilities and have a BSc Honours in Health Studies.
   
   Currently I am a nurse manager but am looking to spread my wings. Does anyone have any ideas into what fields I can look to explore in the future as far as jobs are concerned?
   
   I am open to any suggestions.
   
   Please help me hubbers!

      You can do just about anything you want to. You are educated and you just have to tell yourself to move on. Medical Feild is where to be . Well maybe depending on our politicians. The Mental side is growing in mass quantities but not being reported. Great Feild to help people in need. I know this because My soon to be Ex Wife is BiPolar and we have spent lots of money on this for medical and counseling. Best of luck

      Hi Angie,
      
      If you are looking to change fields, then you might want to look in the direction of IT(Information Technology).  The Medical and IT fields will always be in great demand.  So my suggestion to you would be to do some research online as to what IT positions are in demand for the next 5-7 years and sign up for some online schooling(if disciplined enough) or your local community college.  You can talk  with a counselor, and they can give you some direction as to what field would work for you based on the information that you share with them.  I hope you have found this to be helpful, and I wish you the best in finding your new career.

      May I suggest teaching. You have years of valuable experience which could be passed on to others.When I was in the Nursing course some years ago, your field was touched upon but sadly not utilized as I wish it would have been, in retrospect. You have the opportunity to open the eyes of potential nurses to see the human condition for more then a list of physical diagnosis. It would give them the oportunity for a deeper understanding and recognition of needs often over looked.While you are in the process of sharing you experiance with others, you may find a more rewarding answer to your question

   Wow, that does sound like a dilemma!
   
   The only thing I can suggest is that you go into some other sort of managment since you seem to be a very person orientated person...a people person or so to speak.
   
   Your qualifications are most impressive though, I must say.

   That's really a loaded question. You have to discover what you  want to do. What are your interests? You mention branching out but you don't say in what way.
   
   Your skills can be applied to different careers but you need to do some self-discovery to figure out what interests you. At that time you can try to find out if your skills are applicable for your 'new' or expanded career.

   You mentioned your areas of expertise. That means you know a lot in certain areas (mental health, learning disabilities, nursing). Take a look at consulting, perhaps for a school or schools or for organizations that are child-oriented.
   
   Make a list of topics in your area that you could explain to us in plain English. Then write some hubs on those topics, making them easy to understand and reachable for those of us who aren't in medical professions.
   
   Talk about what you know best. See where that leads you. My main point is that if you want to "stretch your wings", look for some other job possibilities that involve the knowledge you already have.

   What are your passions?  What are your talents?  Where can they cross? Which ones can be profitable? That helps me to determine where I want to go when I branch out.
   
   Nearly everything can be profitable if done correctly.  The key is finding where you are good at something and enjoy it.  If you are going to make a career change, go for something that inspires you.
   
   If you enjoy working in the area you are in now, look at writing a training course for private school to deal with people with learning disabilities.  Write it for parents with children with learning disabilities.  Techniques they can apply at home to make life easier. 
   
   Set up your own website and sell the report or use programs like Clickbank to handle most of the backend work for you.

   Hello,
   
      You certaintly need a way out.You sound as if you are burnt
      out.You say that you are in the medical field.Well that
      tells me that you are very patient,caring and a loving
      person.
      If i were you and i am not.I would be changeing my direction
      in life completly.I would be taking some time out.I used to
      be in the Nursing field myself.I walked away from it and
      now i make my own wine and grow my own organic veggies.
      You are very qualified,maybe you should start setting up 
      small conferences.You have to believe in yourself.
      You can do it.

    May I suggest Network marketing? You are a perfect fit with your people skills and education in the health and wellness industry. Look at my most recent hub and let me know what you think. Go for it! You can do anything and with network marketing you can build a stable life long residual income that will pay you for a lifetime. Work smart and leverage your time and your effort!
