Hi, I was just wondering, when you write a hub and it starts off with a hubscore, what do yours usually start off on? because I wrote one yesterday which started off at 58 and I have had alot of others start at around 50.. is this due to originality or quality? or popularity?
Since the formula for determining HubScores is proprietary, no one is going to be able to answer your question with anything more than pure conjecture.
yeah i guess, just wondered if there was any gossip on the matter, so I could at least try to improve my hubs
There's lots of gossip... but you can improve your hubs in many ways in quality and quantity. The numbers will do whatever they will.
Read hubs by Relasche and Darkside, among others, they will give you some clues.
Remember, it's not a race.
They all start at 50.
If yours was higher, it's because you were busy on it for a while. Start any hub and save without publishing straight away, and the number will be 50.
hey DS~~~ I've had a few start in the 60's when I've waited for a day or so. I published one a few hours ago without waiting and it started at 50.
eventually it goes up.
If you leave them for a while they'll go up as high as 70 or so. It depends on how much content and how much activity you have on the hub yourself.
Even a hub without content will rise, and left long enough it will sink.
Some people have suggested leaving a hub for a while to let it 'mature' (and rise in hubscore) before hitting publish. But the fact is, it will rise in hubscore as quick, if not quicker if it's complete and published. And an unpublished hub can't be read by people or indexed by search engines.
that's interesting. so how does it rise if there is no activity while unpublished? if all the editing, etc. is done and it sits for a day or so?
I probably won't be awake for your answer, but I'll take a look tomorrow. good night ~~ it's late here in florida.
It's especially fun when they dip to 48 just before publishing...LOL.....been there, done that. Then you blink and they jump to 65. It's crazieness that will drive you insane if you let it.
I noticed my unpublished hub seem to be getting traffic, but I figure it must be a computer glitch. I do not understand. After I discover that I hit published.
Included in your hits-- are your own visits, as well as those of other readers. If you go in to edit a few times-- I think those are all counted, as well.
I have also noticed that after I added more keywords to some of my hubs even though the traffic went up, their hubscores went down. Not that I think it matters, but just an observation. My Hubber score stayed the same though

I have strived over the last 5 weeks to produce as many hubs as i can but to a high quality. I heard at first that if go around serial 'following' this can penalise your hubscoreI added a few people but then cut down when i heard this. I only follow about 12 people.i just noticed someone who has 25...

I am sort of disappointed. I try to be active in the site as much as possible, comment on other people's hubs, help out in the forums, add new hubs once every two weeks, participate in the question and answer and my hubscore is slowly decreasing. Any advice from expert Hubbers on how to...

I have read how hubscore is computed but was still surprised the other day when I saw a hubscore of 1. It just is somewhat amazing to me that some hubscores are 10 or below. Don't get me wrong----I'm really not trying to be judgemental or holier than thou or anything it's just I...

Can someone tell me what is the 'hub score' please? It seems to have no relevance to the number of page views on my hubs. Thanks!yellowbutterfly

Would it be possible to not calculate a hubscore until a hub is actually published? When a hub is being created and you save it before publishing to come back and edit. When the hubscore drops it affects your hubberscore too. There are times when the hubscore rises as soon as you start the hub...

Is it me or have the Hub scores been fluctuating more drastically the last week or so?
