I have don newspaper work but it is many years ago.It was a total of less than two years. However, I think I learned quite a bit about writing and was exposed to experiences that I might not have had otherwise. However, there are not many small community paper for beginners to start in now.

I have two online columns I write for an online 'News Paper' and I use to write for a printed paper-
I got lucky in High School, and was noticed for my Photographic Journalism Skills and was eager to learn all aspects of the field-they helped me out and gave me a shot.

I wrote weekly articles for our local newspaper when in high school. I was grateful for the opportunity and learning experience.

Why should we prosmentor, when it's obvious that so many of your hubs are stolen from people who've bothered to put work into their articles?

A very quick browse, and at least 4 out of the 6 hubs I viewed from your page are virtually 100% copied from other websites.

Dogsi - you're top dog in my book right now for finding out about this scammer.

For someone who says "As a writer, Chinedum has published more than 200 articles in major national publications. He is a regular contributor on Daily Independent Newspaper. Presently Chinedum is an executive editor of Sedation Magazine." It is surprising that he opens a thread with the title above!

I hate BS and it stinks around here!

Likewise, I've flagged around 7 of his hubs for being almost entirely or entirely copied. I smelt a rat when I saw a hubscore of 3.

    back to articals
I was asked to write a page on travelling with your pets for an issue of Pets Magazine. I think it was a 2004 issue. At the time I was running a very in demand mobile pet show party business. Doing the writeup brouhght my business name up and I got a couple of TV gigs with my acting pets.
My business has been suspended since 2006 when someone rear ended me at a stoplight. I just had my second shoulder operation
and have been through cognative therapy for a brain injury. Dizziness memory pain and tinnitus has been an ongoing battle, so I had to stop booking shows.
The recognition writing for a magazine or appearing on TV really helped the confidence in the business

If you are looking for advice as to how to get published for a magazine or newspaper, I suggest that you take a journalism class and get to writing for a college paper, then the local newspapers will pick you up if you are any good to work for them as an intern who makes little or no money at first but just work for the experience.  From there it is easy.
