Very little yahoo traffic

   I have been getting a decent amount of traffic from google but I recieve very little traffic from yahoo and the other search engines. I used to own a website with the same problem. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong, or if this is normal?

      Not sure why. My guess would be that it has something to do with how many people use which search engine to search which keywords. And it's going to vary from time to time. Not sure why, but if you search for any keyword using the free version of nichebot http://nichebotclassic.com/ it shows you the estimated daily searches for Google, Yahoo, and MSN. It just varies for some reason.
      
      
      
      Google Analytics gives you this info. I also get most of my Traffic from Google. When logged in (and receiving data) click on "Traffic Sources" then "Overview" - it shows you right there in the graphs. You can expand the reports to see more. You can do a lot with Analytics - I have a hub on it if you want to check it out.
      
      In the past month 81.75% of my traffic comes from search engines. A break down of that is 60.14% from Google, 15.32% yahoo, 2.65% from MSN -  but also I get traffic from others like AOL, Search, Altavista...for some reason the people that visit from AOL and Search have been spending 2x the amount of time on my pages than Google.

   I doubt you are doing anything wrong.   Your hubs/sites may just be more optimized for Google than the other search engines.   I don't know.  Just a guess.
   
   By the way, I am new to hubpages and since this was brought up, I was wondering, is anyone here getting decent Yahoo and/or MSN traffic to their hubs?

   More then 50% percent of my traffic here is Yahoo. Google is less than 15%.

   Well i dont know you are 100% correct but can you tell me on what base you are saying that more than 50% are from yahoo only. Any specific report ?
   Hope you can prove this and will be waiting for your positive response.

      LOL First I don't need to prove anything. I am not bragging, I am sharing my experience.
      
      Second, there are many ways to get such data. The easiest is to go here http://hubpages.com/my/hubs and note your total number of visitors, and then go here http://hubpages.com/my/traffic_source to see the breakdown of traffic sources. Then it does not require even high school maths to calculate the percentages

   Britney, perhaps you missed the part where Misha said his most-trafficked Hub was called "google home page"?
   
   Nobody will search Google's home page for the Google home page, will they?
   
   Of course he gets lots of traffic from Yahoo ...

      Jenny, you'd be surprised, but people search for "google homepage" on Google, too. In fact, for this particular hub, I have 75k total visitors from yahoo, and almost 25k from google.com, not counting google.au, etc... Go figure

   I dont care where my traffic is coming from as long as its coming!!
   
   I was getting lots of traffic from google images at a perticuler hub!! and i wondered why this was the case, so i tried a few keyword searches and realised that people are actually typing "www.google.com" in "Google images"! and thats why im getting these high stats for this hub!!
   
   images.google.com: 1797
   hubpages.com: 1500
   
   There are soo many ways to get traffic from soo many sources and what works for (A) may not work for (B) and vice versa and i know people who get massive amounts of traffic from stumble yet i dont and i submit just as many articles there!! i assume it depends how active you are at each individual place such as socialising and chatting instead of just submitting!!
