Government Health Care Management - The "Ultimate" Oxymoron

    "Waste and fraud are pervasive problems for Medicare and Medicaid, the giant government health insurance programs for seniors and low-income people. Improper payments totaled an estimated $54 billion in 2009. They range from simple errors such as duplicate billing to elaborate schemes operated by fraudsters peddling everything from wheelchairs to hospice care."

    54 Billion in "Improper Payments".

    And people want to turn over Health Care to a Government who can not even manage the current programs?

    Health Insurance companies are being demonized.  And like all industries there are "Bad Guys" who are abusing the system.

    But most Health Care companies are providing services at prices they can afford.

    Kaiser LOST over $700 million in 2008 and no one complained about that!

    You don't "fix" a system by MANDATING participation (TAX) then turning it over to an organization (Government) who has proven over and over they can't manage to do anything but tax, borrow, and spend!

    There are places in the current system like Monopolies that do need to be addressed.  But in it's current form both the Senate and House Bills are disastrous.

    Don't WE deserve better?

      Especially when that "organization" has a consistent track record of failure, fraud, and an inability to remain solvent or meet budgets!

      I'm just amazed that ANYONE can have any faith in government to do this right in the absence of them having demonstrated any prior ability to do so!
