in a comment someone posted six weeks ago on one of my hubs.

It does not seem to be connected to the person who left the comment. It seems wrong to now remove their comment but it is totally unrelated to the subject of my hub.

What should I do leave it or what? It is odd how it has suddenly appeared - if you can only edit for five mins. after you post how can someone have addded it?

Sorry I know I go overboard with questions when something like this happens. I am annoyed at my own lack of knowledge on such things.

I delete unrelated stuff without hesitation or a second thought.

I'll second that. Unrelated comments, especially with links, will steal a bit of your link juice. You can stop it by just deleting it.

thank you both for replying I do not think I have explained fully - the comment was left six weeks ago with no out link on it.
When I looked at my hub today this comment had an out link and I am wondering how it was added to the comment. As it was the first reply I think I would have noticed any immediate alteration in it.

To clarify the comment related to my hub the outward link that has appeared does not. I am wondering could someone else have added the outward link to the original 'posted' comment.

If I delete it and that person who left the comment about my hub was unaware of the link it seems bad mannered.

So, sneaking back to add an unrelated outgoing link for the poster's own benefit isn't bad manners?

Seriously, they are your Hubs and your comment capsules.  You get to deal with them however you wish.

    Thank you relache my misunderstanding.

I thought you could only edit a comment you left on someones hub within a five min, time slot.   I have either misunderstood that or someone has found a way around it.
