   The Media is not portraying both sides of the Arizona Immigration law... instead choosing to jump all over the people of the State of Arizona's right to do something about a huge problem.
   
   I found this comment online and it's time for Americans to Stand up for America.
   
   Illegals are not Mexican, they are not Latino, they are simply Illegal.  Illegal is NOT a race.
   
   "The time for the silent majority to speak up is now! Do not allow a few celebrities, or politicians pandering for minority votes speak for the majority of this nation! Illegal immigration causes far more problems in this country than it solves. This is not an issure of race, MEXICO is a country, MEXICANS are not a race! This is not an issue of civil rights, ILLEGALs have no rights! They are not citizens. We should stand behind Arizona and show our support, it has taken a decisive action to solve a big problem that has been ignored repeatedly. Boycott Arizona?! Well I say punch back, and BOYCOTT MEXICO!!! Spread the word! If it says "made in mexico" put it BACK ON THE RACK!!!"
   
   My family came here legally, and it's the only way immigration should be tolerated!

   Agreed, Mike.  As one of the 70% of Arizona voters who support SB 1070, I appreciate your post.  Notice how nobody in the media is asking WHY we support the law?  That is, why we think it's needed?
   
   (Hint:  Attacks on Border Patrol agents by illegal border crossers, often by "rocking", up to an average of more than three per day....)

   I'm beginning to get into state's rights more and more to deal with complicated issues that the federal government has a hard time getting it's hands around.
   
   For example, in Massachusetts we've been dealing with mandated universal health care for several years and a recent poll said that 65% of our residents were satisfied with it. Perhaps we should go our own way and states that don't want it should go theirs - and in a few years, we'd all know what's what - and have some substance to discuss rather than just theories. Meanwhile if you want to live in a system like ours, we've got room!
   
   And I think letting some states deal with illegal aliens in this manner might not be such a bad thing. Maybe secure our border 1 state at a time. See how it goes. It'll be interesting to see the impact on neighboring states - but then they will have to decide how they want to handle it.

      They were satisfied with their health care, as they had been before. Because of that system the state is falling deeper and deeper into debt and has had to call on the federal government for support. Meanwhile, insurance premiums continue to rise at levels even greater than before the program was put into place.

         When it is LAW you have to pay for the Insurance....where is the incentive to lower costs??? There is none, but only to increase premiums for profits.

   I am in agreement with this Law also Mike. Arizona is just making a State Law that is the SAME as Federal Law. The difference is...The Federal Government is Not enforcing Federal Law and Arizona is doing something about it.
   
   Now the Federal Government and the Media wants to attack Arizona?
   I am hoping Arkansas will follow suit. There is a group trying to get a similar Law on the November ballot here. It has opposition (Tyson and Wal-Mart of course), but...the people of this State would pass it if it makes the ballot!

   Not to derail this topic to health insurance. I was just pointing out that states react differently and I think that's a good thing. It gives Americans real choice about where they live - and still remain in the US. The amendments that were passed today, seem to take away some of the concerns of the opponents.
   
   I do wonder what would happen to me if I flagrantly broke a law in Mexico, the way Mexicans beak our laws. But I admit to not knowing enough to really go there.

      LOL, I see your point Nelle. We Americans would be in a jail in Mexico if we broke their laws! We would not have the rights we have here.

   Try entering Russia,China,North Korea, Cuba and even Mexico without the proper papers.Try jail,torture,a beating and maybe the firing squad. They wouldn't tolerate what is going on here in our country protesting the laws of the land.

   Fighting Arizona’s drug trafficking and border violence problem
   
   Just a few days ago, a major drug ring was broken up and 39 Mexican cartel operatives suspected of running 40,000 pounds of marijuana through southern Arizona were indicted.  This is merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Arizona’s drug trafficking and border violence problem. 
   
   Narcotics prosecutions in Arizona have risen 202% in 16 months, however, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearing House, there will be 1,080 prosecutions refused this year in Tucson alone.  This represents over one-third of all unprosecuted cases in the Southwest.  Until January of 2009, any smugglers carrying under the threshold of 500 pounds were often not prosecuted - a fact that smugglers knew all too well!
   
   When she served as Governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano sent countless requests to Washington to take action in securing our border.  Now, as Secretary of Homeland Security, she claims that the border is “as secure now as it has ever been.”  That’s the problem.  Our border wasn’t secure when she was governor and it’s not secure now.  We’re not buying that “the system worked.”  By turning a blind eye, Secretary Napolitano is betraying us in her home state.  Napolitano personifies what happens when people go to Washington. Sometimes, they forget who they represent.
   
   As the rhetoric on illegal immigration continues to grow out of control, it’s more important than ever to share the facts on Arizona’s new law.  The reality is that Arizona’s new law mirrors federal law, which the federal government is not enforcing.  George Will put it in perspective; the federal government's refusal to control the border is what has caused this problem in the first place.
   
   
   As I stated when I signed the law, racial profiling is illegal and will not be tolerated in Arizona.  The bottom line is that the federal government must secure our borders and I think Arizona finally got their attention. It looks like we're going to have a battle on our hands, but I'll keep telling the truth and doing what is right for Arizona and our country.

   I just have never understood why our borders aren't secure and laws enforced. I never understood the amnesty program under Reagan. And when we ask to have laws enforced we are called racist.
   
   If I break American laws or don't pay my taxes, I get arrested. No wonder a lot of Americans are upset and angry.
   
   And I'm a flaming left-wing liberal on most issues. But to me this is about right and wrong, legal and illegal.
   
   And God help those poor border guards.

      LOL, Have a goodnight Nelle!!!  And the issue of Illegals is an important issue. America is the only country that protects illegals due to race that I know of and will punish legal Americans for breaking the law. Something is definitely wrong.
