How does one get the related hubs shown on a hub to match the hub??? I've tried changing categories, nothing works. I can't for the life of me see what China buying Smithfield Foods has to do with Native American history!

I always wondered if those links are really helpful in anyway... I'd like to know whether that helps convert and get more readers to other hubs etc (Stats of some sort would help).

I know that we don't get paid for them as it's just a hubpages search option. If it's getting other people readers, then I'm fine with it. However, if it's not converting well I don't really see the point.

Personally I'd like to have a Table of Contents kind of option over there instead so that readers could jump to any part of the hub. I've had table of contents in the past and now I'm working on adding them to a few of my hubs. The only problem is that after every major section I need to link back to the table of contents so that people can switch to different parts of the hub.

Maybe this could be added to the bucketlist of possibilities. Even though I have reason to say it's not going to happen due to misuse.

My hubs have related searches (which are actually related) most of the time galleryofgrace.

I was curious when I saw your comment so I just checked my traffic sources--I have about 23,000 page views listed from related hubs. Not a lot, but significant. In the "traffic sources", they are listed under other hubber names, and when I visited that source I found my own hubs listed as a related jub. (As far as I know there is no specific stat that shows that.)
galleryofgrace, I wrote a hub recently on Brazilian Parrot Names and one of the related hubs was Brazilian Bikini Wax in DC. Not related, in the least, but the names were similar. I asked HP team about it and they changed the related hubs so that all parrot hubs are listed at the bottom.  I do not know how to change them manually and do not think it is even possible.

DrMark we're not talking about Related Hubs (At the bottom of every hub). This thread was based on Related Searches (Above the Share Icons). You won't see it if you have ad blocker on. Here's a screenshot of what galleryofgrace is talking about: http://i.imgur.com/bySUboj.png

Personally I'm a fan of the related hubs feature, it helps both the visitor and other authors - I don't mind that at all. In fact I love it!

You must have used the word "foods" in your hub, and maybe "native".

I personally wish they would do away with the related search.  I do like the related hubs when they work.

We have no control over related hubs located at the bottom of our hubs. It is controlled by HP.

I think the "related" feature uses the same algorithm that Netflix and Amazon use to recommend movies, i.e. "If you liked Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, you might like... The Texas Chainsaw Massacre!"
