So yesterday I spent a little time trying to backlink a few articles on blogs and xomba type sites. I am not sure that the xomba sites are what is working tho. What I did with the blogs is find some related blogs to the topic of my article and read em, then tried to write a nice quality comment for the blogger and actually was able to use the url of the article in a url box so not even having to have it in the body of the text, feels less like spam to me that way. Had a search from one of the blogs already, figure the webmaster was checking me out to decide if my link was a valuable one for his/her reader. So I have a look at my account and one of the articles has 2 red arrows pointing up, the other is just one red arrow.

I have seen that red arrow a few times before as well as the blue down arrow sad. This is the first time I have seen 2 red arrows, must have done something good yesterday!

How many red arrows are possible? Maybe I want to try for 3 or 4? Also had 2 adsense clicks over night so valuable traffic it seems.

This is interesting as I have had sevral red arrows and was not aware you could get more. You have obviously written a good comment and it has paid off. Will try this method a little more as I often comment on other websites which are related to mine.

Glad to give your grey matter a little something to play with big_smile It does seem to be a valuable way to back link especially if you are giving a quality comment to the blog in question. I actually only commented on ones that were written in such a way that I DID enjoy it and could comment on a tip or suggestion and share what I know too. Its easy to give a good comment if the subject matter is good stuff.

I sent a request to the British heart foundation and asked if they would consider backlinking. I think it's great that they give people an opportunity to submit their work. Fingers crossed that it will be good enough as I was only allowed 500 characters. That was tough in it's self.

I have read in articles that that is an excellent way to bring in traffic, also to visit forums that may associate with your hub subject and to leave helpful comments which could include a link. I've never had more than 2 red arrows, but others here may be able to tell you if more are available. smile

Ohhh I hope you get it! That one backlink would likely be worth several from other less well known sites. You are such a groovy lady and your writing style is very friendly and personable I bet you will get it!

I actually got the idea from an article here and figured I would test it on some of my high rated niche topic articles, I have yet to make an amazon sale but think these pages are the mostly likely to earn well that way if I can drive the traffic and rank with google, adsense is fine but not the highest cpc ever I can tell ya! Still its nice to see clicks smile I may well try it with some of my lower performing articles but they probably need way more work then that, like the text shown when found in a search, using the best keywords and dropping the lesser ones, stuff like that.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth as they say!

That is so cool! I have maxed out my increase in traffic for hubpages! WoooHoo! And just by posting on a small few blogs! I have tried the ping sites and the submission sites like shetoldme and xomba and dig, you know the sort I mean and yet this has been less valuable then just finding a good blog on the same topic and trying to offer a decent comment, usually don't need to add the url to the comment either as they often have a url box to put it in instead!

I have seen two red arrows beside a hub several times. It happens when traffic jumps dramatically by many folds. It is not dependent on a forum or blog links etc.
To the bast of my knowledge this is dependent on traffic rising.

Hubpages has indicated clearly that red arrow is for traffic rising and it is implied that two arrows means traffic rising at a higher pace. My experience also suggest that.

Neither me nor any friend has ever seen arrows more than two. I think this is the maximum. Hubpages authority may answer exact.

    Thanks,

I have had two arrows on a topic- I would like to know how you decide which blogs to view and comment on?

    Hi Sandwichmom

To the best of my knowledge two arrows are not related to blog or forum comments. It is dependent on traffic.

Of course, blog and forum comments drive traffic many times, not always.
generally, blog and forum posts with a topic related to you attracts more traffic.

Please do some research about blogs and forums. You will find something useful to you.

    Thanks,
    Jyoti Kothari
