I've received "how to" create a referral tracker link instruction but am not sure I did it right. When I clicked on on the link I created to test it, it ended up on the right Hubpage BUT the "unique tracker number" was not included in the URL one sees in the top bar.
Is this the proper sequence:
http://hubpages.com/_1w3e4r5t/hub/HubPage-I-Want
Said another way:
http://hubpages.com/
Followed by an underscore and the "unique tracker code" - e.g., _1w3e4r5t/ (dummied up code - by the way)
Followed by /hub/
Followed by the hubpage I want
That is correct, exactly the way you have shown it there.
The tracker URL does not 'stay' in the address field. It resolves to the proper URL. What happens (automagically) is a cookie is place in a persons temp folder and it tells HubPages who the referrer is if they then sign up to HubPages.
