   A Texas woman is suing Zappos.com and its parent company Amazon.com over the hacking incident that compromised the personal information of more than 24 million customers.
   
   The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Louisville on Monday, seeks class-action status and is asking for damages of at least $5 million.
   
   On Sunday, Zappos said that one of its data servers in Kentucky had been hacked, exposing customer names, email and mailing addresses, encrypted passwords and the last four digits of credit card numbers.
   
   The online retailer deactivated passwords and asked customers to make new ones, including on other websites where they might have used similar passwords.

   I'm starting to read more stories about customers suing large corporations for putting our private information at stake. Zappos,which is owned by Amazon,is the latest one in the news. Is it foolish to sue a large company or should more of us do it? Identity theft is on the rise so there's a potential for all of us that shop at Amazon to be victims
