Deus Ex Human Revolution Getting to the Picus Funicular

Deus Ex Human Revolution Getting to the Picus Funicular

In deus ex human revolution, Jensen goes to Montreal to find Eliza Cassan the anchorwoman within Picus Communications. The first part of the Picus Communications walkthrough is a breeze, as all the employees of Picus Communications (save for Eliza Cassan) have been ordered to leave the building. Jensen eventually makes his way to room 404, where he has a showdown with Eliza Cassan, or rather a hologram of Eliza. Jensen is determined to find and capture the real Eliza. Pritchard reports to say that to do so, Jensen must make his way to the Picus Funicular, a large lift that will take Jensen into the lower levels of Picus Communications.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Eliza Cassan's Trap

In deus ex human revolution, Eliza Cassan has set a trap for Jensen, tricking him into coming to get her, and then springing the trap. The trap consists of the manhunt for Jensen, as tons of guards pour from nowhere to take control of each room.

To escape from the Picus Communications upper levels and escape to the lower levels to find Eliza, the following routes are suggested. First, on leaving room 404, head down the corridor and bypass the first three doors. Enter the fourth door, and discover a crawlway or shaft sitting at a corner of the room. Jump onto the table and then onto the cabinet to access this shaft.

Crawl all the way through, and Jensen will eventually arrive back at the Picus Web area. The key here is to use stealth to get past the guards. When the guards are not looking, use the other balcony railing to Jensen's left and make good his escape into the left hand side of the room. This will take Jensen into another room where there are only two guards and a security camera. Either destroy the camera, and then the two men, or just sneak past the two men to a lift that will take Jensen to the Picus TV News area.

The Picus TV News area is an area lined with red Picus banners and these are quite distinctive (see above picture). Jensen starts at the upper level, and must make his way downstairs by stealth. The key is to find the workstation 1, and then keep using cover after cover to hide until one reaches the outside of the funicular. There will be a sign to guide the player once you reach Workstation 1.

The last hurdle in finding the picus funicular at this particular level is a heavily armed guard at the last hurdle. Either take down this guard or just sneak past him using cloak to a fortified door or a defect in the wall. Use strong arms to smash the walls, and proceed downstairs to the outside of the funicular.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Battle for the Picus Funicular

In deus ex human revolution, the outside of the picus funicular still involves getting past two guards standing side by side. The key here is either to use energy bars to replenish the energy bars to take out the two guards in rapid succession. Alternatively, use weapons such as the tranquilizer darts to take out one or two guards and finish off the other with the familiar Q button. Head to a room with a flashing red light.

Once within this room, immediately head behind a cover, and observe the pattern of guards patrolling this room. There is also a camera and turret here. The best way out of this room and into the picus funicular is to head upstairs to the left, where there is a ladder at the end of the walkway. Drop down to the lower levels and hide behind the crates immediately. Look to the left and find a small tunnel which Jensen can crawl into and emerge on the other side of the tunnel. This will allow Jensen to bypass the camera and turret and then when the guards are not looking, quickly go and activate the picus funicular.

Unfortunately, activating the picus funicular will also draw everyone's attentions to Jensen. There is really no need for stealth at this point, so take down all the guards here for a bit of practice. The number of guards here may be overwhelming. The key to this battle for the picus funicular is to establish position in the area behind the crates next to the funicular. Also use a small crawlway here that will lead to the outside of the room, and allow Jensen to come back in. and surprise the guards. Keep going backwards and forwards through the tunnel and crawlway and behind the crates to confuse the guards and then sneak to their back and take them down when they are not looking. Be careful though: the guards can cloak too. When all the guards are finished, move up to the funicular and go inside and head downstairs to the Picus Communications Lower Levels.
