Getting Sober Won't Be Easy But Well Worth It In The End

Updated on August 12, 2013

I am here to tell you that getting sober won't be easy, but well worth it in the end and I am living proof of that statement.

Everyone that has an addiction to alcohol is scared to death to be without his/her crutch to lean on. Alcohol runs and ruins so many lives all over the world. The alcohol demons do not discriminate believe me. The demons will ruin anyone's life that they can get their hands on, but only if you let them into your life will they destroy it.

If you think that you might be too weak and let the demons of alcohol into your life then I would highly recommend not to start drinking at all, because if you are weak and start to drink alcohol, and do it irresponsibly, the demons will indeed take over your life and when that happens, without warning, it will be hard to push them away and get yourself sober again.

No One Said Sobriety Was Easy

I can certainly say that sobriety isn't easy, BUT once you have achieved it, and make it long term sobriety, it is so worth every bit of hard work it took to get there.

For myself, I never thought that I would be able to get and stay sober until that one day I had a change in my attitude, meaning from thinking nothing but negativity to changing that to having a positive attitude and telling myself over and over again that I WILL GET SOBER no matter what it takes.

This is what you have to do in order to get and stay sober, and to get rid of the rotten demons that are trying their hardest to kill you and ruin everything in your life that you have worked so hard for. They have no mercy on any of us and are just out to seek and destroy every person that doesn't have the willpower to say NO I have had enough and simply surrender to that one thing that will in time kill us, one way or another.

Feeling so Proud of Your Accomplishments

When you take that first step in your life and have decided you have had enough drinking alcohol and want your life back, you will be so proud of yourself that you did. Just imagine all the things you can now do that you couldn't do while the alcohol demons ran your life.

Waking up in the morning feeling happy and refreshed and ready to take on the world compared to having a massive headache and feeling like crap for the most of the day UNTIL you take that first drink of alcohol and then you are all fixed up right? WRONG!

It is a vicious cycle, day after day, week after week with no days that you are sober. When I think of that now, and how I did the same thing, it really makes me sick in my stomach that I was too weak to fight back at the demons that were destroying everything in my life slow, but sure.

Keep a positive attitude in everything you do in life and that includes, getting and staying sober! If you have the willpower, desire and the determination to get sober, then it will come. Never give up on yourself and say you can not get sober, because you most certainly can. I did it and so can you!
