What is more risky in terms of Diabetes? Regular intake of juice or soda?

I am so much worried about my habit after meal and that is drinking either juice or soda. Please share your knowledge about the effects of it.

I guess the fruit sugar in juice is better than the sugar in soda. Neither of them is very healthy if you drinkt hem regularly. To avoid diabetes you need to eat healthy too. You can get diabetes (Type 2) even if you live a healthy life if someone else in your family has diabetes and you have it in your genes.

Diabetics can consume free foods and drinks in moderation as often as they wish, but diabetics also should consume only the recommended number of servings. When talking about soda, I prefer having the sugar-fee diet soda cause it contain fewer than 20 calories and less than 5 g of carbs per serving. However, the caffeine found in many diet sodas might cause increased blood sugar levels after meals. Juice however, you get vitamins and nutrients from it that you don’t get from diet soda, but it is loaded with sugars which will make you gain weight….which in the long run is not healthy. fruit juice is good for you, but has about 100 calories per serving. If you drink a lot of the fruit juice it is more liable to cause weight gain. Its actually in the key of moderation, but far enough, for me, i choose fruit jiuce. big_smile

You're always better off consuming Natural foods and drinks verses man made products like soda pop.  I use to work for Pepsi along time ago and watching the mix of chemicals added to a thousand gallons of corn syrup was quite enlightening.  I prefer drinking what God made vs. what man has tried to come up with.  Avoid diet drinks altogether - as they've learned finally they promote obesity.  Just add one tea-spoon of regular sugar to Diet Pepsi, and watch the reaction!  Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles, just like baking soda and vinegar!  Yuck!

With this all said, even when drinking Natural Juices, watch what type you drink - that it's all Natural, and as with all things, practice moderation.  Too much of anything can be a huge problem.  Also, avoid things that cause diabetes that doctors don't tell you about, such as their Blood Pressure medications that bring on diabetes.  The cure is worst than the problem in that case.  You're better off to exercise, eat right, thus loosing weight, and bringing down BP naturally, than taking pills. Doing things the natural way as I said above is always better than going artificial.  Have a great 4th of July weekend!
