How fast does your body break down muscle cells for energy when it needs to do so?


It's a fact that when your calorie intake is really low, your body will begin to break down your fat and muscle tissue for an emergency supply of energy. However, I don't know how fast it does this or even to what extent. Knowing this is vital to planning the length and difficulty of your training session, so I would really like to find out.
